With every day, she shares A sprinkling of history A smattering of stories The scattered scenes of a denarian. (Although she is almost out of it, Another threshold met, matched, Mastered!) That day marked a day like any other but we decide to mark it unlike any other A prologue to her new journey, as we swam across the dark green sea. But I digress. Digress and wander Through a myriad of familiar feelings The joy that her company brings Even if her stay(or mine) is the briefest of glances A chance encounter A beautiful, twinkling moment. A moment. A memory. I live for more. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 Empathy cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/20 7 cursor .sicsr.ac.i n /node/20 8 2 Empathy. Is this what the human generation has come down to? To the level where we can’t even love one another? To the level where we can’t empathise with the grief of a fellow being? To the level where we can’t understand what the other person is going through. The world has become too cruel, the world has lost its glory, and the world has become a sham, all because, one human cannot understand the pain of another. This is not what we were meant to be, we were meant to be creatures of empathy, creatures who could help others in times of distress, yet, here we are, creatures who put on a smile for the others. What is empathy after all? The ability to share and understand feelings of another, to know when the other is suffering, and to know when the other needs help. But all we see today, is where we will benefit, the concept of empathy is a rare-find now, because greed has risen through the ranks, greed, one of the seven deadly sins, has proven its nature, and humans, still fail to realise what they are doing, and humans, fail to empathise with one another. Humans were meant to be creatures of love, it is time, we live up to that reputation, it is time, we start caring for another, without seeking a greedy cause, it is time, we start to empathise with one another. One should also learn to love oneself, if caring for another person is important, so is, caring for yourself. And in times as such, we must always be there for someone who wishes to share, more importantly for someone, who should share, being there has evolved over the time, from being something strictly physical, being there in person, even if you’re ready to listen to someone, you’re being there for that person, and trust me, it is important. You may not always relate to everything the other person is going through, but you can listen to them, you can also sympathise, and being there for someone in need, will give you a joy unparalleled, and trust me, you simply telling them, “I am here”, helps a lot. Start with that, make your people believe, that you’ll be there for them, tell them “you’re there”, if and when 3 they need you, and your people will be there for you, whenever you need them. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 Lockdown Life - Poem It was the exam season When the unexpected visitor came by It took the world by storm. The visitor did not have good intentions Put everybody in a lot of tension The world took a break I took one too Hoping we would surpass This deadly flu But my introverted side rejoiced, To stay in my own shrine, With plenty of time With my favorite people There is no better choice. Got back all those sleepless nights And tried to make my sleep schedule tight Through Books I drifted far Also realized I was a cooking star This was probably a sign Even when the stars don’t align I will be just fine. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/21 0 4 Lockdown My daily life’s memories are disappearing like a smoke And I am lost in my train of thoughts. Stress, depression and anxiety are dancing in my head, But new things keep coming my way like a waterfall down the hill. Then again why am I missing those old things That worries buried me with a sadness in my heart. What is there for me in the future? A darkness without any hope or, a faint light with a little hope. I am seeing the big world in a small screen now But I want to see the world out of this small screen like the old times. Nothing is clear in this foggy rainy environment that I can’t see anything And those sharp thorns are pricking me deep inside. Yet I am surprised to see the beauty with those pricky thorns That this new journey like a rose holds. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 LOCKDOWN DIARIES The new normal- opportunities and challenges cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/21 1 cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/21 2 5 So, we have often heard about festive diaries, office diaries, childhood diaries and many more related to our memories, episodes and experiences. But the main hitch is what gave rise to these worldwide conventional lockdown diaries? COVID-19 Who is not familiar with this term? The term that shook the roots of the entire universe. Something that threatens the inner soul of any human who anyhow gets related to it. Covid-19 is primarily a deadly disease caused by coronavirus. It was originated in China in 2019 and became a pandemic in 2020. A disease that not only gave pace to the medical facilities but also to the politics among the nations. Since it is a communicable disease, government of all nations declared lockdowns for their people. Initially people did not find it a matter of concern as it was just a menial lockdown, but as the COVID-19 cases kept surging, the lockdown got stretched for months, which gave rise to various opportunities as well as challenges for them. Let’s give heed to all the particular categories that has suffered in this entire wave. KIDS: What went thrilling for young ones the entire lockdown session was their family members joining them in all their amusements; be it games, food or movie nights. This was something they have been missing, since the new trend of social media have somehow created a huge gap between parents and their children. Finally, they felt the joy of togetherness and got enough time to spend with the adults of their family, someone who teaches them values for the entire lifetime. TEENAGERS: It was a bit inflexible for the teenagers because this is the age where they will to hang out with friends and the entire time, they had no other alternative than staying at their residences. But just like others it was helpful for them as well as they got an expertise in things that they had never tried before. They learnt how to cook and bake the most fascinating food items like cakes, pizza, lasagna and much more. STUDENTS: This is one of the most affected categories of the entire lockdown chapter. It’s basically an inclusion of technology in their already technical life. 6 Students spend majority of their hours in classes which has entirely shifted online, causing a lot of commotion. All their practical studies are shifted to theoretical one because of these provocations. But despite all these challenges there have been an addition of a lot of opportunities for the students. They usually get confound as to which channel, they should opt for further in their higher studies, so during this entire lockdown they got a lot of time to figure out their capabilities and their future dilemma. WORKING PEOPLE: Under these situations, they had to adopt the mantra of “work from home”, which turned out to be pretty challenging for them. Economy had been affected drastically, so it crashed out hard on businessmen as their employees were willing to leave and these businessmen had to come up with strategies and ideas that could make their employees withstand the difficult time. ADULTS: This entire period has helped adults in finding happiness among their families, which was possible because everyone was stuck at home. They got time to do everything they ever wanted. Though we have talked about almost all the categories that have endured the complete lockdown but here we are forgetting the one most auspicious one, i.e., our mothers. Every individual at home got a breathing space from their tiring loaded schedules, but our mothers were still on the same track, working the entire day to fulfill the demands of their family just to add betterment to their little happy moments. This time had been unalike and unexpected one for the entire universe, something for which the beings were not prepared in readiness. Still their commitments and willingness made them stand through the crisis as well. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 WHAT I THINK WHEN I LOOK UP AT THE MOON If I am a girl, is that my choice? God made me so and told it will all be nice When I think of this, I couldn’t relate Then I end up thinking is this my fate? cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/21 4 7 World is a broken place As people here judge you on basis of caste, gender and race Then I hope maybe one day , People won’t mind if it’s a daughter or a son to play with on a Sunday; I wish this happens soon and We could all look happily at the moon. CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 Equity and Equality It's time to change people's ideology By explaining them the concepts of sociology Men and Women are different only in biology As the thought process starts in the mind it's time to change human psychology Equality is not just a word but an emotion to be felt by human creation It should no longer be treated just a word in the books of nation But should be brought into action Welcome to the world of modern generation Where people say it's time for acceptation and not for explanation Then why is still equality a big question? Freedom comes with a responsibility But what's the use of freedom if it doesn't provide you equal opportunity No one should be discriminated on the basis of status, rights and opportunity And stop the practice of partiality and brutality It's time to realise the essence of equality Don't give up on your ability you will be provided the best support according to your capability This should be responsibility of everyone for forming a good community cursor.sicsr.ac.i n /node/21 5 8 We can make this possible by treating people with equity Equity and Equality once a part of today's society Can be the reason of change from harsh to enlightening reality CURSOR 5.0 | VOLUME 3 ISSUE 1, JANUARY 2021 SICSR placed 1st Rank of Top BCA Colleges in India SICSR participated in the BCA colleges Survey 2020 conducted by: Global Human Resource Development Centre (GHRDC) and placed 1st Rank of Top BCA Colleges in India.
