A Spiritual Anchor - mosque and commu- nity center in a remote desert town. Translations - Educational Assistant Role Type: Academic- Thesis Programs: Revit, Enscape, Lumion, Photoshop, Illustrator This architectural thesis envisions an Egyp- tian consulate that blends cultural elements to create a welcoming sanctuary for Egyp- tians in the Greater Toronto Area. Prioritizing privacy, diversity, and community, the design integrates features such as cultural displays, a traditional pigeon home honoring Egypt’s agri- cultural heritage, and a screening mechanism symbolizing privacy. The consulate serves as both a diplomatic hub and a cultural bridge, fostering connections for Egyptians abroad while offering non-Egyptian visitors a space to learn and engage with Egyptian heritage. To engage both Egyptian and non-Egyptian commu - nities, a contemporary urban interpretation of the tradi- tional ghyet hamam (pigeon roof ) is introduced as a shared, community-main - tained feature. At designated times, the pigeons are released to navigate the urban skies, instinctively exploring and orienting themselves.
