Kansas City Barbell Programming + Open Gym Open gym gives you access to our facility. Our open gym hours are: Monday to Friday: 5:30am to 8:30pm Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am to 2:00pm We are fully staffed during these hours, and we routinely check for cleanliness, ensure equipment is returned to the proper location, and our staff members are all certified coaches who are here to help all members with: Spotting Assisting loading plates Form corrections and cues Questions And more Team programming is in addition to the Open Gym plan. These workouts are optional, and numerous members take advantage of them to pursue their fitness goals. Why come to a gym without a plan? Let us help you achieve your goals with one of our programs such as: Strong and Fit A general strength program for the masses. Get stronger and feel better without the intensity of powerlifting. This is fantastic for people whose goals are, "I want to feel and look better." We use a variety of equipment and movements to keep things fresh. This is a 5 day per week program and this will be part of our Small Group Coaching Class. Sean Dunston is the author of his popular program. Weightlifting Is devoted to the Olympic Lifts of Clean and Jerk and Snatch. We have several programs to access written by USAW Coaches Sean Dunston or Erica Folk. Both of them are highly qualified to teach you the fundamentals to the competition platform. These programs are widely varied in styles, and some are even SuperTotal-type training where both the power and olympic lifts are programmed. Strength and Conditioning This is designed to maximize your strength, power, and speed. This is ideal for athletes and people who wish to train like an athlete. Depending on your needs, there are three and four-day-per-week options for this program. This program is designed with a comprehensive warmup, strength movements that cycle through a four-week phase, and exercises that improve your athleticism. Conditioning work is part of this program, and we use a variety of tools to improve it. We will use AirDynes, sleds, sprints, and metabolic conditioning circuits. Be prepared to be tested. Jay Ashman is the creator of this program and he pulls from his vast experience as an athlete and working with them over the years. Hypertrophy Is training designed to build lean muscle. Jay Ashman and Sean Dunston write programs for our members who want to achieve this goal. The focus is less on maximal strength and more on reps, tempo control, and maximizing your training for the specific purpose of hypertrophy. Hypertrophy is also known more commonly as Bodybuilding. Powerlifting Is training for maximal strength in the squat, bench, and deadlift. Jay writes the programming for Powerlifting and it is set up in a way to challenge you, test your limits, and if you choose to compete we can take you from any point in the program to a platform in five weeks. If you choose to compete, we handle all your weight attempts from warm-ups to the third attempt. We are continually working on new programs for our members, so be sure to ask our coaching staff about our options. This membership is $165 per month which includes all floor coaching.
