When the project has been finished for a month, move the media project folder from NAS1 to NAS2, which is a pre-archive storage 2. After a project has been in NAS2 for three months, copy those project folders, and the folders from the GDive, onto drives and log accordingly We will be introducing a new drives logging & dispatch system - watch this space. Our new server will streamline the way we work and remove the need to work from drives or local raids. Happy days! We have a new folder structure and file naming convention (see following pages) and a slightly updated workflow to where files are kept, and archiving. This is as follows: 1. Receive JN from producer and use template on NAS1 server to create new project folders which will house the media (named _media ) 2. Simultaneously create project folders on the GDrive within the new folder template, named the same way but with _projects at the end. All your PP/AFX etc projects will live here, absolutely everything else will go onto the NAS. Please don’t save any files or assets here 3. Ingest all of your assets onto the NAS, into the correct folders. Please never work directly from a drive or your local raid - your project on GDrive should link to the assets on NAS, nowhere else NAS1 PRODUCTION PROJECTS Project Name LIBRARY Templates Plugins Presets Specs See slides Live projects’ media only. And they all need to follow the same folder naming convention : Job Folders: On the CRP_LDN_NAS1: JobNumber_Brand_ProjectTitle_Media e.g. CR22042_Snickers_Lionesses_Media On the G-Drive: JobNumber_Brand_ProjectTitle_Projects e.g. CR22042_Snickers_Lionesses_Projects Project File: JobNumber_Brand_ProjectTitle_Task_OpInitials_Version E.g. No need to ad v for version numbers, or “final” - as it never is! Always add underscores to ensure the project links properly Please only use underscores, but not other special characters, in file names e.g. / & * | -
