Intel Gaming and Vetch Redefined How Enterprises Connect with Micro-influencers Vetch’s innovative Creators Challenge gave Intel access to 8,000 pieces of authentic user-generated content, 2,500 content creators, and over 75M of their followers Intel Gaming Access – A Leading Platform for Gamers Worldwide Intel’s official gaming hub delivers VIP access to gamers, offering killer deals and freebies, preferred beta access, and a behind-the-scenes look at leading gaming titles. Intel Gaming Access provides a forum to connect with elite developers and leading players and includes special offers and gaming experiences that aren’t available anywhere else. Intel’s gaming team believed that authentic gaming videos would take the Gaming Access Platform to the next level, enhancing excitement and energizing its gamers. That next level engagement would, in turn, allow Intel to maximize the value they offered to game developer partners, retailers, and OEMs. While platforms like YouTube and Twitch contain hundreds of thousands of gaming videos, Intel needed a scalable solution to curate brand-safe videos. They needed a technology partner that could leverage micro-influencers from over 40 countries to create video content that met specific criteria and generated buzz at scale. Vetch technology enables Intel Gaming to create a micro-influencer community 1 Vetch Offers the Creators Challenge Intel turned to Vetch, a creative technology startup with an end-to-end video engagement product. The Creators Challenge offered micro-influencers the opportunity for exposure and recognition, as well as high-end prizes, on Intel Gaming Access. In exchange, micro-influencers needed to create the stream of authentic content Intel needed. “Vetch performed very well. Based on our findings, it’s a unique, advanced solution that was flexible enough to meet our needs.” Using a frictionless entry form that took less than 15 seconds to complete, micro-influencers submitted their videos for the challenge. Each video was reviewed by AI and human analysis to ensure they were brand safe, met the terms of the competition, and didn’t contain copyright or illicit materials. When the challenge ended, all micro-influencers received performance stats, which included views, clicks, and new followers. Prizes were awarded for the videos with the most votes and to randomly selected voters. The Creators Challenge also included a back-end dashboard with analytics, helping Intel identify opportunities for future collaborations. Micro-influencers who passed the review received an email with a unique link on Intel’s site showcasing their video. They were encouraged to garner votes by sharing their custom link with their followers. Those who submitted multiple videos also received a Creator Page containing all their videos in the challenge. Creators Challenge Created a Community Intel launched its first Creators Challenge in January 2022 and has run multiple iterations with Vetch. Each Creators Challenge focuses on popular gaming titles from the world’s leading publishers. The product has proven to be highly successful, meeting Intel’s need for user-generated, brand-safe videos at scale. 2 Vetch performed very well. Based on our findings, it’s a unique, advanced solution that was flexible enough to meet our needs.” As the program evolves, new elements are being added. Current challenges include video ads featuring top gaming laptops from Intel partners, which are served to voters as they scroll through the video menu. Intel views each additional Creators Challenge as an opportunity to improve. “We are iterating this program activation by activation, continually learning from the data and our 2,500 micro-influencers. We are absolutely a lot better today than when we launched the first challenge, and are seeing three times the engagement during the seventh challenge,” says Tonya Degance, Director of Marketing for Gaming Access at Intel. The numbers support that growth. The first challenge had 376 video submissions and 66,787 votes. In the second challenge, they more than doubled video submissions and had nearly three times the number of votes. Through Vetch, Intel’s gaming community currently has over 2,500 gamers from over 40 countries and over 8,000 authentic pieces of user-generated content. They have access to a network of over 75M creator followers. Vetch’s technology has enabled Intel to create a vibrant micro-influencer community. “For a team like ours, we are always trying to innovate on the edge and invent new things. It’s critical that we find companies with great technical abilities who are willing to innovate, take risks, and work backward from the end-state goal to create something new. Vetch technology enables Intel Gaming to create a micro-influencer community. It’s a journey, and Vetch has been an amazing partner,” says Augustine.
