JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Regional Manager South LOCATION: Home Based will require travel to our London & Slough Projects RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Projects CONTRACT: Fixed term until 30 th June 202 1 (with possibility of extension subject to funding) HOURS: Full Time (40 hours) SALARY: £ 32 ,000 per annum BENEFITS: 25 days annual leave + 8 public holidays (pro - rata) Contributory pension scheme Job Overview The Regional Manager will support and manage community outreach and delivery across Sporting Equals community based projects in London and Slough . The role will work closely with the Director of Project s to build on the strong relationships with our partners, Associate Members and community groups across London and Slough The Regional Manager will help grow our offer, the role will involve managing a range of projects, supported by a team of A ctivators to ensure all outcomes are delivered against project ob jectives. T his is an active, outward facing position; the post holder will be passionate about community outreach projects and community engagement As Regional Manager you will: ▪ S upport the implementation of projects leading to an increase in regular participation in sport and physical activity and a reduction in inactivity levels amongst ethnic ally diverse communities ▪ To work with partners and Sporting Equals A ctivators to ensure deliver y ag ainst sport and physical activity delivery plans mee t project KPIs and key outcomes ▪ Manage a delivery team of A ctivators ensuring they are supported and mentored to achieve KPIs against key projects ▪ To maintain and build further partnerships across London and Slough to help increase our Associate M ember s hip offer ▪ To support the monitoring , evaluation and data collection across project s ensuring organisations are support ed in data management and information is collected and submitted within deadlines and GDPR compliant ▪ To monitor progress of project outcomes through systems such as Upshot working with organisations to make inflight adjustments where required ▪ To help organise and manage events engaging partners and communities ▪ To use local intelligence to produce case studies, project and regional information to demonstrate impact and help develop a greater understanding of diverse ethnic consumers. ▪ To support local comms to help raise awarenes s of our work and promote projects (including drafting con t ent for press releases, content for SE newsletter, social media, website, blogs and impact stories), supporting and overseeing PR events where required working in collaboration with our central comms team ▪ To raise the profile of Sporting Equals and its local projects in local communities through building relationship with key regional and local stakeholders including local authorities, health authoritie s, political figures and community influencers ▪ Provide relevant reporting information to the Director of Projects for partners and funders by required deadlines GENERAL ▪ Ensure projects comply with GDPR, data protection legislation and risk s are managed in light of health and safety and policy compliance ▪ To work with the Director of Projects and activators to identify opportunities locally for further projects and partnership building ▪ To undertake any other relevant duties that may be require d from time to time in light of the purpose of the post and its level of responsibility PERSON SPECIFICATION The post holder will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills and knowledge to an acceptable level, with specific reference to: E = Essential criteria D= Desirable criteria Skills, Abilities & Qualifications E Educated to Higher National Diploma level in a relevant subject and have relevant work experience E Excellent project management skills for delivering multi - agency projects E Effective communication skills including verbal and written skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others E Ability to analyse and write up information in reports and presentations suitable for internal and external audiences E Ability to use Microsoft packages including managing information systems such as Excel , Outlook and SharePoint Knowledge E Strong knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to the low levels of sports participation within diverse ethnic communities, E Understanding of community engagement and developing partnerships with local communities E Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation techniques and understanding of basic research techniques to gather local consumer insight D Understanding of sports development and sporting infrastructure and the sport and physical activity sector as a whole D Understanding w ider social impact measures through sport and physical activity Experience E Experience of action planning /work programme planning and reporting against project targets and activitie s E Significant experience in community and/or sports development work in a paid and/or voluntary capacity E Ability to manage people, manage performance and provide a support/mentoring role E Experience of Stakeholder engagement and management D Experience of capacity building within diverse ethnic communities or sport D Good network of community contacts and networks in London Other E Ability and willingness to travel E A flexible approach to working hours to include some evening and weekend work E An ability to work on your own initiative as a remote worker and connect to the wider team to achieve individual and collective targets.
