The band’s early sound draws heavily from the late ’60s, a period when East- ern and Western traditions collided in both music and film. The Beatles opened the door to those experiments, while Can, Neu! and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard served as north stars to the approach the band was exploring. For the boys, krautrock wasn’t just another style it felt like a modern strain of ritual music, a frame- work for collective expression that blurred the line between audience and performer. Highlighting the Juno-60 and DX7 which can be heard in our song The Hardest Pill To Swallow Terence Mckenna Rock “Our self discoveries make us each a microcosm of the larger pattern of history. The inertia of introspection leads toward recollection, for only through memory is the past recap- tured and understood. In the fact of experiencing and making the present, we are all actors.” Alex Grey Rock “Each of us was a luminous cell in a seamless web of soul sharing the same love-light, a Universal Mind Lattice. Love was revealed as the ground of being, the supreme cosmic force, the underlying undying fabric of the Universe”. Pramahansa Yogananda Rock “The wave is the same as the ocean, though it is not the whole ocean. So each wave of creation is a part of the eternal Ocean of Spirit”. Inspired by Piet Mondrian after visiting the artist’s house turned museum, Ismael made the album artwork with a focus on lines and circles as portals into different feelings and memories. All photos were taken by Ismael. The artwork was put together on Pages, the apple document typewriter app. For the physical release of the album, we went with a vinyl CD. Which essentially is a CD that looks like a small 7-inch vinyl. This artwork was made by Indonesian artist Dwiky Ka. Que was kind enough to cover the cost for this. Shoutout Quemama, Love ya! Iteration 33 I went into the writing and conceptualisation process of this album wanting to capture the feeling of a juvenile-esque love for the esoteric cultures of the eastern and western world. Both very dark, heavy and draw inspiration from natural patterns, meditating on death and circadian rhythms. The premise of the album is a young boy makes accidental contact with an interdimensional being after consuming some mushrooms. He goes through a vision quest where he witnesses the end of humanity and birth of a new species. It was a fun bedroom project with my best friends. Black Sabbath, King Crimson and The Misfits were a huge inspiration for this album. - Ismael Most of the music we write is either about self discovery or in retaliation to the invention of the atom bomb. Human spirituality, just like technology has evolved. Our rituals have changed from crying in closed quarters to jamming with people at rock venues. The psychedelic revolution of the 1960s was not about getting high, it was about not subscribing to world ending agendas and systems of mass control driven by fear and hate. It was about changing the status quo and doing what was right for planet earth. He had recently been commissioned to make the artwork for Yuna’s releases and I found his style to be something that fit the realm of music we were exploring at the time. After a few google meet ups, we landed on a few themes. One being a raver girl which we used for The Hardest Pill To Swallow, the second being a pock- et universe filled with untapped emotions ( Oostadarab ), and the last being some- one exploring the cold, decayed alleyways of Malaysia which became the album cover. Oostadarab further explored 3D art with our collaboration with Sixth6tone. (Watch the video on Youtube). SynthTech was our most ambitious project yet and many collaborations made the entire album possible. Our next album sees us explore community, our homeland and what it means to turn 30 years old while the whole world reshapes itself again and again. “I can’t keep waging war with the past, of all things” - The Hardest Pill To Swallow “Nice car, government penchant, chomp that fat cigar” - Oostadarab (Synthtech 2022) (Synthtech 2022) The power to create The power to sustain The power to evolve A Plume Of Smoke Moving Really Slow a 15 song album featuring Tomo Blu, Leotard and Job Wong Here’s the thing, I’m pretty tired, I’m in and out of here It’s so hard to try and keep my cool Feels like i’m lying to you Not even trying to, It’s all pointing to my head, I sober up so i can feel a bit I see the signs peeking through the lines, I think i’m losing my mind Love should be easy Nobody told me Love should be easy Nobody told me I really liked her, It’s all the same, I’m gonna make these mistakes again Love should be easy, Nobody told me Lagoon Park I’m gonna say I found myself, Then lose it all again If that’s symbolic of this age, I’m so happy for this place, Learnt my lesson - No more stressin Learnt my lesson - No more stressin There are too many acid stories, Yoga instructor origin stories, Don’t tell me I gotta calm my forest, or if there’s a raging storm - I won’t flourish Everyday I find myself Everyday I find myself Everyday I by myself Everyday I find myself I gotta go I gotta go I gotta go I gotta go find myself Yoga Instructor Origin Story
