Page 1 Attaching WalkWise to your walker wheel There are three ways to attach the device to your walker wheel: zip-ties, twist-ties, or dual lock strips. If you do not see an installation method that will work for your walker, please contact us at 1 (866) 624-0046 or support@walkwise.com. If you have a rollator walker (similar to the picture on the left) you will use zip ties. Installation instructions: Page 2 If you have a standard walker with spokes (similar to the picture on the left) you will use twist ties. Installation instructions: Page 3 If you have a standard solid wheel walker (similar to the picture on the left) you will use dual lock strips. Installation instructions: Page 5 Page 2 Using Zip-Ties 1 If you use a rollator walker with spokes, we recommend using zip- ties. During installation, make sure to use three of the zip-ties. 2 Insert the zip-ties through the holes of the smart walker attachment. Align them within the spokes of the walker wheel. 3 Wrap the two ends of the zip-tie around the spokes of the walker wheel. Insert the end into the receptacle, then tighten the zip-tie around the spoke. 4 Using a pair of scissors, trim the end of the zip-tie once they are tight on your walker. End of Zip-Tie Install Using Twist Ties 1 We recommend using twist-ties on standard two-wheeled walkers. Make sure to use three twist-ties when attaching the device to your walker. 2 Put each end of the twist tie through the holes on the edge of the device. Place the three twist- ties in a triangle pattern (shown right) around the device. Page 4 3 Place the ends of the twist-ties on either side of the walker spokes. 4 Here is a view of how the ends should look when coming through the back. Securely twist the two ends of each 5 twist-tie together forming a loop around the spoke. Do this for each of the three twist ties. As you are twisting, periodically check to see how tight the device is on the wheel. This will take approximately 6-8 twists per twist tie to securely attach. 6 Once you have securely fastened the twist-ties, tuck the ends back in the spokes. End of Twist-Tie Install Page 5 Using Dual Lock Strips 1 If your walker wheel is solid (as seen in this picture) you will need to use 3 dual-lock strips to install the device. 2 After peeling off one side of the protective backing, stick the three strips in a triangle pattern on the back (flat side) of the device. 3 Peel off the remaining three of the protective backings and stick the device directly to the center of the wheel. 4 After sticking the device directly to the center of the wheel, firmly press on all edges. Your device is now attached to your walker. If you would like to remove the device, firmly grip and pull the device off the walker wheel. End of Dual-Lock Install Page 6 Node Setup 1= Plug in the node. It will automatically blink while connecting. Once the light stops blinking and turns white, your node is now properly set up. This may take up to 15 minutes. 2 After the node is set up, move the walker. After you have set up the app [Page 9] check to see that recent walker movement data has been added. End of Node Setup
