Job Title: Aerospace Technician 1 Division: Research & Development Reports to: Test & Evaluation Lead FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Description: Responsible for assisting in setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry and equipment adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications. Assists senior engineering technicians and engineers in the testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery such as engines, instruments controls and machines. Performs a variety of tasks in conjunction with the maintenance of the facility and testing support. Performs rudimentary fabrication, construction and manufacturing functions. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements: Requires a high school degree or its equivalent with zero to three (0-3) previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Position requires the aptitude to learn how to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to plan, organize, analyze and problem solve under the direction of a senior engineering technician or a cognizant engineer. Proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of action. The successful individual will be capable of working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The individual must have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations. Further, the individual must be a motivated self-starter who can articulate new ideas to members of the Executive Management Team, the Exquadrum organization as a whole, and customers and prospects. Essential Functions: ● Assists in supporting all technical aspects of engineering fabrication and testing. ● Assists in maintaining and inspecting physical facility plant. ● Performs technician function in support of engineering projects and testing objectives. • Support project managers or engineers in accomplishing technical and programmatic functions as assigned. • Perform to completion specific projects assigned by the project manager or engineering staff. • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor. • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy. Physical Demands: Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods through out the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Will require working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Work Environment: The performance of this position may require exposure to the manufacturing and laboratory areas, and indoor and outdoor environments, where under certain conditions require the use of personal equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, protective gloves, respirator, and lab coat.
