I’ve worked in many places doing automotive work of all kinds and I am now working as a mechanic for PG&E and have been there now for 20 years. I enjoy building and fabrication working with metal and anything to build my toys, and my friends’ toys, better for our off-road use. I have also since gotten married and am now recently divorced after 25 years. Most recently, I’ve had the distinct pleasure to work with some of our esteemed classmates being on the Reunion Planning Committee where we have planned the 25th, 30th and now the 35th year reunions together. Currently, Alan is a Colonel in the Reserves and a civilian leader with the US Central Command. Deanna (Wallis) Quiroz, 1992 Moe Welper (Mauricio Perez), 1987 Hi, this is Moe Welper from the class of ‘87. Contrary to popular belief, I am not in the witness protection program; I graduated as Mauricio Perez and over the years my name has been shortened by friends who had trouble pronouncing my full name to ‘Maurice’ then to ‘Moe’. I figure by the time I’m 60, people will just call me ‘M’. After school I went into consumer product development and procurement. Most notably for Discovery Channel in the 1990’s and Oakland Zoo from 2010 to 2019. I’m currently a freelance art director and spend most of my time these days volunteering for non-profit organizations that support human rights and well the local parent-teachers association . I still reside in the Bay Area. I was married in 2013 to a wonderful guy, hence the last name, and we are both fortunate enough to be the proud fathers of a now 9 year old son. Ann (Yap)-Jequinto, 1987 I put my career on hold and was a stay-at-home wife for many years taking care of my then young daughters and autistic brother. When circumstances changed for me, I found myself a single mom which led to many open doors. I became a Health Assistant at NHUSD, Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Union City, active St Anne volunteer, Rotary Club member, Ambassador of the Union City Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Union City Historical Museum, and Hayward street adopter. When the COVID outbreak began, it brought me and my ex-husband back together. Martin and I worked out our differences and remarried this year on our same previous wedding date on June 22. Our eldest Megan is living on her own and our youngest Madison attends SJSU. We also have 2 small dogs. I found my passion as a humanitarian and started a non-profit organization called Rodney’s Hope on behalf of my autistic brother who loves to help out. I provide benevolent services to the homeless and needy families. I have partnered with the 5 Sikh Seva Food Truck and make hot meals for them. At the start of COVID, a few community leaders and I created Team Union City Food Drive to help provide food and hot meals to individuals who were affected by the pandemic. Since March 2020, we have continued organizing food distributions in Union City. I look forward to our reunion and reconnecting with fellow Loganites. Stay safe and healthy. Joana Young (Bella Bliss), 1987 Hey sweet peeps! Joana Young, aka Bella Bliss! Class of 1987 and Reunion Committee Member. Wow, what an eventful life it’s been! I’ve played the whole marriage (20-years to a narcissist) and divorce game (like some of you have been through too!) and it’s been the most challenging time of my life! But regardless, like the box of chocolates, we never know what we are going to get, right? As for me, I have chosen a peaceful, no-drama life in my Zen Den, full of life lessons and gratitude to fill many hearts. To know that we can bounce back from tough times has been my saving grace, as well as many of you who have supported me along my way through my journey. As mentioned, bouncing back became my greatest GIFT in life. At a young age, being a gymnast, learning martial arts, and a hot dog skier, I learned how to FALL. With that, getting back up and RISING was a natural thing for me. Also focusing on goals and trusting that I can achieve them also gave me motivation and the strength to continue on. I share my pivot-to-power in my book released October 2022! I’ll be a published author along with 29 other badass women in a book called, Unleash Her! I would love it if we can stay in touch & for you to read and share with others. It will serve as a survival guide and life hack for so many women around the world! Living in 9 places in a year, I have learned how broken the system is for women who chose an independent lifestyle and want to break free of the things that do not serve them. So, I have become a Transformational and Empowerment Coach specializing in helping women through challenging transitions and guides them into a more enriched, balanced, empowered, healthy, and purposeful life. Basically, I love to help women who love to think BIG and help them step into their POWER and live the THRIVER life they want to remember. I’m still in Northern California, however, moving to SoCal soon. I love to connect and collaborate, so let’s stay in touch!! Let me know how I can support you or connect you to more networking opportunities. I am super resourceful and a connector!! Find me on FB or IG. Fun fact, I lived in the Midwest for a good part of my life and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Yes, how in the world did I end up in the middle of nowhere right? LOL ;) I am a published author, speaker, drink KETONES advocate, an entrepreneur, an artistic photographer, a traveler, a devoted mother to two amazing kittens I fostered, and an experienced facilitator of trauma healing and life transitions. I also am a personality geek and love to help people through identity and learning their superpowers to lead a happy and fulfilled life. I’ve completed a Relational Mastery Enneagram program that emphasizes shadow work and continues to connect on a soul level with my clients in advanced Enneagram & Life Coaching. If you love human design and numerology, let’s chat!! I believe that time is precious and continue to encourage people to push beyond their comfort zone – EVERY DAY! I believe that choices are opportunities, and opportunities lead to freedom. We are never too old, and it is never too late to step into your greatness. The empowering mantra I live my life is, “Be SEEN. Be HEARD. Be LIMITLESS.” Blessings to you all! It is wonderful to see you once again! Until next time, CIAO xoxo Bella aka Joana
