The organisation ran a youth competition from the 1st of August to the 30th September 2019. Our aim was to contribute towards making young people economically active by providing them with skills to succeed in society. We were targeting all young people (ages between 16-35 years) in Gauteng, with plans to duplicate it in all 9 provinces in the year 2020. The competition was 3 folds; entrepreneurship, job opportunities and access to education. The competition was about young people sending through a 60 seconds video stating what they will do to become best versions of themselves. The top 20 finalists attended a boot camp where they were trained on life skills, HP LIFE eLearning and business skills, afterwards the finalists then pitched infront of a panel of judges where the top 3 winners were selected. The total prizes won amounted to an estimated R50 000. The top 20 finalists attended a bootcamp from the 8th to the 10th October 2019 at Petra Lodge in Edenvale and the pitches were on the 11th. The announcement of the winners was on the very same day (11th October). As we are a Non-Profit Company we are doing this purely for the greater good of our countries’ future. We would like this competiton to be bi-annually and nationally covering all 9 provinces. We urge sponsorship/ donation from private and public sector in a form of resources, skills or money to ensure that we touch as many lives as possible. We are currently funded by Silicon Valley Community Foundation from the United States of America. We would like to extend our appreciation for the support and assistance in advance.
