1 Rules and Regulations Rules and Regulations - updated May 2018 Fees Fees are payable by cash, cheque or online transfer on or before the first day of each term. On request we can provide you with an invoice detailing fees due for the next term. Please note that weekly payments are only accepted in special circumstances and do not guarantee a place at the Academy. Requests for weekly payment must be directed to Kat Hendy. Please note that if fees are not paid after 3 consecutive classes, we reserve the right to exclude you/your child until fees are paid. How to Pay Please direct payments to Kat only. If your child is paying please send payment of cash or cheque in a named sealed envelope. Please state who and what class it is for. You are welcome to partake in one complimentary trial class with no obligation to join the school. Online bank transfers are possible, please ask Kat for details of this payment method - acknowledgement via SMS of online payments can be requested. Registration When joining the Academy you must fill out a registration pack giving: A. Emergency contact & medical details B. A signature to state that you agree to the terms and conditions C. Permission to/not to use any photos taken for publicity purposes* D. Marketing Preferences This will be stored as confidential information. If your address, telephone number or email address changes please let us know so that we can update our records. Security Due to the small capacity of our waiting room, you are welcome to leave the premises whilst your child is in class, but leave a contact number in case of emergency. Please ensure that your child has made all the necessary bathroom visits prior to class, as assistants cannot enter the bathroom with your child. If your child needs to be collected by someone else other than yourself, please inform an Elev8 team member & provide name/contact details for nominated collector. 2 Dance Studio Etiquette Please wear correct dance clothing and shoes (Please refer to uniform list.) No outdoor shoes are allowed in the studio as this creates dust and dirt making the floor slippery. Long hair must be tied back off the face. No watches/jewellery/false nails to be worn in the studio. Small ear studs are acceptable. Please note: jeans are not acceptable clothing for street dance classes. Personal Belongings Elev8 Dance Academy /Studio 8 cannot be held responsible for loss or damage of any personal items belonging to participants or parents/guardians/carers. We will keep items that are left behind as lost property to be collected. If possible, please label items which will help us to locate it or know that it is yours. Arrival and Collection Please make sure your child is brought to class at least 5 minutes before it begins and be ready to collect them after class. Should you be running late please try to telephone/text Kat to let us know you are on the way. Viewing Classes Periodically throughout the year there will be 'open classes' and all parents/guardians will be invited to observe their child's class. These open classes ARE NOT open to the general public, and spectators must adhere to studio rules. Missed Classes Please inform us in advance of any classes you will miss. If you miss 3 classes consecutively without informing us in advance or term payment, your place will be given to the next dancer on the waiting list. Class sizes are limited to 18 students. Behaviour Participants should conduct themselves in an acceptable manner. Any inappropriate/dangerous behaviour will be discussed with parents and Elev8 Dance Academy reserves the right to exclude students without a refund. Teaching Periods Each term is typically between 6-8 weeks long. This usually co-insides with school half term breaks, Easter and Christmas. Any extra holiday workshops will be advertised in advance. Touch Policy We operate a 'hands on' teaching policy and it is essential that as a parent/guardian, you inform us immediately if you do not want us to use this approach when teaching your child. 3 Terms of Notice Participants wishing to leave the Academy for any reason are required to give 3 weeks' notice. DBS Clearance All teachers carry enhanced DBS clearance, the appropriate insurance policies, first aid, and relevant dance training. Social Media By signing a media consent form you consent for any photographs taken by the Academy to be used for marketing/advertising. This includes advertisement on social media streams such as Facebook & Twitter. You can opt out at any time. Elev8 Dance Academy vision - The ethos of the Academy encourages learning whilst having fun and staying healthy. Performance opportunities are regularly offered, and examinations in Ballet are available. Please speak to Kat. Complaints Procedure To make a formal complaint please send complaints in writing to Kat Hendy (Principal) at kat@elev8danceacademy.co.uk, or post to 8 Mill Lane, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN69PD A/O Kat Hendy. Complaints will be reviewed, and dealt with on a case by case basis. All policies are reviewed and updated on a yearly basis and when required by law
