Reyes: Recognized Mark Rice and Tim Trimbell from District headquarters 1 VC Gall Report: st Membership Report: NSTR 2 VC Candela Report: Boys State was very successful. Post 637 sent three youths to the nd event and they thanked the Rotary club for financing the event. Candela is going on the honor flight on the 21st. Finance Officer Monteton Report: Currently we have $47,210.81 Service Officer Miranda Report: Encouraging all members stop in to see about possible benefits and/or other help. Commanders Report: Post donated $500 to the districts Hawaii relief fund. On the part memorial, awaiting a new parks and rec director to determine how much funding and space will be available for the build. Building is going to be part of the FY 2024 funding to start allocation in October/ Nov 2023. Saturday is the senior health fair on Date ave 10-4. Sunday Funday from 10-3 at Rusch park, need volunteers. Saturday Oct 21st is the Hallow ween parade and AL will be participating/. Placerville Standdown needs assistance on the 29th. On the 27th of October there will be distribution of standdown gear for the homeless at McClellen park. Presentation of awards to Jim Monteton and Kermit Schultz for their hard work on the wall that heals presentation. Second reading of the bylaw change to add the previous commander as a voting member of the executive board. Vote: All in favor New Business: District Commander Mark Rice: Recruiting numbers are down, AL is moving to provide easier way to recruit with the use of an IPAD and now able to accept credit cards. Gaming is the new way to get members as the latest generation plays lots of games. This was echoed by Kermit stating younger veterans play lots of video games. AL will be working to capture new members with video game play. 2nd Vice Tim Trimble: Provided information on the Be the One Campaign to eliminate soldier suicide. Presentation by Kermit Schultz: Request for support the veterans advisory committee on preventing veteran suicide, alcoholism, homelessness within Post 637 area. Motion my Stone, seconded by Miranda. Short discussion. Vote: All in favor to support this mission. For The Good of The Order: Terry stated that 30-40% of mental health clients he is seeing are veterans. Encouraged us to support Kermit’s request. Richard Tkach: Robert Cassey went to post everlasting. Jack Frost: Needs some assistance on getting the phone tree done.
