Rehearsals: August 9-September 8, 2022 Performances: September 9- 25, 2022 (14 Shows) Characters: Phileas Fogg- Presents as MALE, 30-50 Man 1- various characters Man 2- various characters Any Gender- various characters Woman 1- various characters A Christmas Story Based on the motion picture Written by Philip Grecian Based upon the book by Jean Shepherd “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Back by popular demand, A Christmas Story will once again take the stage for a fun, festive holiday treat! Join Ralphie Parker on his quest for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun and make it part of your family’s annual holiday celebration. Rehearsals: October 18-December 17, 2022 (Thanksgiving week off) Performances: December 3-18, 2022 (17 performances) Characters: Ralphie Parker (9-12) is our young protagonist. Equal parts dreamer and schemer, Ralphie doesn’t just covet an air rifle, he also knows (or thinks he knows) exactly how to persuade the adults around him that his cause is a righteous one. Ralph Parker (30-60), Ralphie’s older, wiser alter ego, functions as the story’s narrator and assumes the roles of the various townspeople who populate the landscape of the play. Ralphie’s Mother (25-40) is a patient parent with firm convictions – in particular, the conviction that her son should not own an air rifle. It takes a lot to ruffle her feathers, but the provocative leg lamp that Ralphie’s father (25-50) wins in a send-away contest does seem to do the trick. The Old Man, the Parker family’s beleaguered patriarch, is a grumpy, good-hearted father with a penchant for highly original (and to the audience’s ears profanity-free) invective and a deeply held desire to be a winner. Randy (younger than Ralphie), Ralphie’s little brother, sure is cute, but getting him to eat his breakfast or don his snowsuit can be a serious headache. Schwartz and Flick (9-12) are Ralphie’s two best friends. Flick is the unfortunate guinea pig in the infamous frozen-flagpolelicking experiment, while Schwartz becomes the scapegoat when Ralphie accidentally utters an unspeakable word. Scut Farkas (12-16) is the schoolyard bully who routinely torments Ralphie and his friends. He has yellow eyes! Miss Shields (20-50) is Ralphie’s teacher. She’s also an integral component of his campaign for the perfect Christmas gift. Esther Jane and Helen (9-12) are two of Ralphie’s classmates. Helen is something of a child prodigy, while Esther Jane seems to have a particular interest in our young protagonist GALA MUSICAL Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash Created by Richard Maltby, JR Conceived by William Meade From the songbook of Johnny Cash comes this unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and the healing power of home and family. More than two dozen classic hits—including “I Walk The Line,” “A Boy Named Sue,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and the title tune—performed by a multi-talented cast, paint a musical portrait of The Man in Black that promises to be a foot-stompin’, crowd-pleasin’ salute to a unique musical legend! Though he is never impersonated, Johnny Cash’s remarkable life story is told through his music, climaxing in a concert that will both move and exhilarate. Rehearsals: January 4-February 9, 2023 Performances: February 10-March 12, 2021 Characters: Trenna – (Female) Vocalist, doubling on acoustic guitar if possible. Jason – (Male) Vocalist, playing acoustic guitar. David – (Male) Vocalist, playing electric guitar, banjo and fiddle. Eddie – (Male) Vocalist, playing acoustic and electric guitar. Mark – (Male) Vocalist, playing bass (preferably double bass) and various percussion. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike By Christopher Durang Few contemporary playwrights have proven as deft as Christopher Durang at mining both the absurdity and the dangers of human folly. This Tony Award winning play offers some keen insights into the challenges and agonies of twenty- first-century life while also offering up a jolly good time. Rehearsals: February 28-March 30, 2023 Performances: March 31-April 16, 2023 Characters: VANYA- (late 40s?): he’s a wry, intellectual observer, resigned to his life, though he’s perfectly comfortable, living off of Masha’s income. Gay, but doesn’t make a thing of it. A writer, but hasn’t produced anything in quite a while. He has a tour-de-force explosion toward the end of the play about the inanity of modern culture. SONIA- (late 40s?): lives in the house, also off of Masha’s earnings. Like Vanya, she can be witty and ironic about her situation, but is more discontent, upset, regretful. In love with Vanya, can’t understand why they shouldn’t marry. MASHA- (late 40s?): she’s in love with herself pretty much, or at least the professional self she used to be. Needs self-confirmation and adulation, which she currently gets from Spike. Gallivants around the world when she’s not working, which is less and less. SPIKE- (20s): an aspiring actor, self-absorbed and self-promoting, works out and is super-proud of his body, which he regularly shows off to anyone interested (which is how he attracted Masha). Note: appears in his (wet) briefs fairly early on in the play, and does a “reverse strip-tease.” CASSANDRA- (20s): witty, ironic housekeeper to Vanya and Sonia. She practices voodoo and is clairvoyant (like her Greek namesake), though nobody’s sure whether to believe her or not. Goes into trances from time to time. Comes from somewhere voodoo is practiced, and may have a dialect from there. NINA- (20ish): idealistic, star-struck and energetic, wants to be a “real” actress. She’s visiting her aunt and uncle next door to Vanya and Sonia. A Dolls House Part 2 By Lucas Hnath In the final scene of Ibsen’s 1879 groundbreaking masterwork, Nora Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children, and begin a life on her own. This climactic event—when Nora slams the door on everything in her life—instantly propelled world drama into the modern age. In A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2, many years have passed since Nora’s exit. Now, there’s a knock on that same door. Nora has returned. But why? And what will it mean for those she left behind?
