Here are some key points to keep in mind when crafting your disruptive cover letter: Tell a story - don't just reiterate your resume. Catch them at hello - write an engaging first sentence. This is a make or break moment for a lot of people. Knowing how to properly prepare for interview is cruial. The most common way that people mess up in interviews is by not preparing to answer behviroal questions. Remember Experience + Learn = Grow Here is out list of 18 common behaviroal interview questions. Tell me about your greatest 1 accomplishment on the job. Tell me about a difficult situation 2 you encountered at work and how you overcame it. SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP Give me 3 adjectives you would use 3 to describe yourself & examples of your work style to support them. Give me 3 adjectives you would use to describe your weaknesses/area 4 for improvement & the reasons why you feel you need to work on these. If I was to ask a co-worker about 5 you, how would they describe you on-the-job? SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP Tell me about a time where you were required to work with a difficult 6 person. How did you handle the situation? What was the outcome? If you were given a task to 7 complete in an unrealistic time frame, what would you do? If someone came to you with an 8 enthusiastic, yet unrealistic request, how would you handle it? SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP Why are you looking to leave your 9 current position? What do you want to get out of your 10 next job? Tell me about the best manager you 11 ever had? Now tell me about the worst. SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP What are the 3 most valuable things 12 you've learned while working in your current position? What was the biggest mistake 13 you've made on a job? How did you handle the failure? What do you feel makes you successful in your current role? 14 Give an example to support your success. SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP What skills are you looking to 15 develop in your next job? Why? What do you think makes a company good to work for? What do 16 you like about your current company? What could be better? Do you prefer working alone or in teams? Give examples of how you 17 worked to successfully both alone and in a team. What do you attribute your success to? SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP What are your own business 18 philosophies? What do you feel must be present in a successful business? NOTES: SECTION 4: INTERVIEW PREP NOTES: SECTION 5: ONLINE NETWORKING Networking can be one of the most indimidating aspects of job searching. It's an intrgal part but most people skip it due to fear and a lack of how to properly network. Here is checklist to help you feel more confident in your online networking abilities to help your grow and strengthen your professional network. Get clear on the "service" you provide as an employee. What's your specialty and how do you save or make money for companies? Craft a 2-3 sentence personal statement. Ask yourself, what do you do? How do you do it? What do you want to do next? SECTION 5: ONLINE NETWORKING Optimize your LinkedIn profile. Use skills and keywords that directly support the "service" you provide as an employee. What's your specialty and what skills do you use to add value? Brand yourself to your network. Share content and messaging that supports your specialty do your network knows what you do and how you add value to employers. Connect with people who work at your target companies on LinkedIn. Invite them to connect with a personalized invitation. SECTION 5: ONLINE NETWORKING Reconnect with people who already live in your network. Think about people in your area who work for your target companies or know people who work there. Ask questions that can be answered in a 1-minute or less to break the ice. For examples, you might ask, "What's your favorite part of working for this organization and why?" Find ways to add value in your network. Make an introduction. Share an article, Like or comment on an article. Write a recommendation on LinkedIn. Invite someone to a virtual event. SECTION 5: ONLINE NETWORKING Avoid asking for a job. Instead, ask for advice, introductions, LinkedIn recommendations, suggestions on companies, and so on that can move you toward your goal without making things awkward. Spend 10 minutes a day on your virtual networking startegy. Whether it's pushing branded content to your network, connecting with new people, or paying it forward to people in your network, dedicate a few minutes every day to your strategy.
