Going into the night Axiss was up 11 points on teammate and IOMA title contender, ItzzHockeyDrew and 25 points over another fellow teammate Parker7574. The night started out seeing Axiss on the top spot in qualifying with a 52:724; an almost two second faster lap than teammate and title contender ItzzHockeyDrew Yoshimura, Rdizzle, and Iowahawkeyes rounded out the top five in the nights qualifying. 4 The night show would see many faces in the front as it was Rdizzle, coming off a personal best race in St Louis last weekend with AOSX, who took the heat 1 victory, axiss claiming victory in heat 2 and Trentmobile persevere over the rest of the riders in the LCQ. IHaveAFatFriend, A7_Squirt, and Natrix transferred through to the A main from the LCQ. It needs to be said, however, that in light of a prior takeout, Clapper4545 pulled over and in a very sportsmanlike-way, gave Natrix the transfer Good on you! The feature event was almost a huge occasion, as it saw a shuffle of riders upfront early including IowaHawkeyes, the holeshot winner, who suffered an unfortunate cross-rut in the second section, TrentMobile, the LCQ winner, Natrix, the man who luckily made it, and ItzzHockeyDrew, the sole title contender to Axiss at this point in the season who was being hunted early on by McCloudNick. The title holder/defender, axiss, was meanwhile in the back finding himself fighting to the front for the second league race in a row. After a high speed berm-blowout, McCloudNick would fall off of Hockey’s heels and to the sharks lurking behind him. After being able to hold off BullDGN it was time for him to be the first step of resistance in Axiss’ quest in keeping his streak alive, lucky for him, Axiss would go down allowing McCloud to breathe a little before the circus. PressXRacing would see a potential one-off podium sweep at the half-way point in the race with McCloudNick, Natrix114, and xYOSHIMURA291x in the 2, 3, and 4 positions With Parker7574, RDizzle716, and 5 Axiss chasing them down, they all started pressing harder. The push would cause Natrix to fall to just inside the top 10 while McCloud prepared yet again for battle with Axiss, but to no avail, axiss would move on At just under the 4 minutes to go mark, Axiss made the pass on ItzzHockeyDrew and after a few laps of back and forth was able to open up a comfortable lead over his teammate for the win. With Hockey finishing second it was only another 3 points lost so there is still room to recover with just a 14-point gap. McCloudNick would finish off the podium with a stellar third place finish Awesome ride! Yoshimura would claim the 4th spot while Parker7574 closed out the top 5. Complete race results can be found on Instagram @IOMA_playstation 6 5/6/21 - PSE Round 7 - Glendale The premier class for the Pro Supercross eSport series raced their seventh event of their season Thursday night in Glendale. The night would start with a stacked Heat 1 with many of the series front runners taking part; Axiss, ItzzHockeyDrew, RDizzle716, Smokebag95, IowaHawkeyes, and quite a few more. Rdizzle would snag the holeshot for the first heat and after falling to mid pack was able to move his way back into second and fight with Smokebag95 right up until the end, however it was smokebag who prevailed and took the first victory of the night while RDizzle716 would transfer through with his second place finish, as well as ItzzHockeyDrew, IowaHawkeyes, and IHaveAFatFriend. Unfortunately I was unable to get any details regarding heat 2, to those riders, I apologize. The LCQ would see series points leader and title defender, axiss, lwindex, YOSHIMURA, Sxcory, and and ImTheFatFriend, to name some notable riders. Axiss would end up transferring through with a win, with lwindex right on his heels. The A main started off with BullDGN absolutely exploding from the gate, with a holeshot over over a bike length, before entering the turn. But by the time they reached turn 2, the GFuel squad had made their appearance. Axiss, IowaHawkeyes, and Parker7574 knew they had to get around Bull quickly. Axiss and 7 IowaHawkeyes got around him before he nose picked the triple double in the second section, losing a lot of positions quickly. As they settled in on lap two we saw, in order; Axiss, IowaHawkeyes and Parker7574 battling for 2nd and THC Factory Racing’s Rdizzle closing in on the battle in 4th with Tallon214 right on his knobbies. After a series of unfortunate crashes, Rdizzle night would end with a taco’d rear wheel. At the halfway mark we would see axiss, umslurp, IowaHawkeyes, ItzzHockeyDrew, and Parker7574 in the #5 spot. With the leaders settling in, we focused our attention on the battle from behind as Saltman17 tracked down, fought and passed both Parker, and IowaHawkeyes to make his way into the #4 spot. However after some intense riding, Iowa was able to retake 4th from Saltman on the final lap, and would be solidified there when saltman cased a triple in the following section. Axiss would take the victory over UmSlurp and ItzzHockeyDrew, with IowaHawkeyes and Salt “shaker” man17 in that last top 5 spot. Complete race results can be found on Instagram @ProSupercrosseSports. 8 5/7/21 - AOSX Round 8 - Arlington As the AOSX season winds down we headed to Arlington, TX for Round 8 of the premier series. Points were crucial and racing was great as the championship comes to a close. The night would see Axiss again in the pole spot in qualifying with UmSlurp and ItzzHockeyDrew close behind as all three were within four-tenths of a second of each other. Squalay and Parker7574 would finish out the top 5 in qualifying only a half a second off the lead pace. Axiss, Rom1297, and Premiu12_STR transferred to A main from Heat 1, Parker7574, UmSlurp, and BullDGN from heat 2, and Bejito_UI, HockeyDrew, and Squalay coming straight from heat 3. We would see RDizzle and Chitopan33 coming from the consolation races into the feature event. The A main event was comprised of 12 of the fastest riders on the platform as the story has went for the past 8 weeks. At the gate drop it was PressX Racing’s Bejito_UI out to an early but extremely short lead as he would claim the holeshot award and immediately hit a tough block, giving 9 Parker7574 a spot in the lead briefly as teammate and points leader Axiss was moving quick. This was axiss’ first race this week that he was able to get a good start, as well as Parker. With axiss settling into an early lead and Squalay and Parker battling early for 2nd, that left Rom1297 and HockeyDrew in fourth and fifth trying to keep the podium riders in sight. At the halfway point in the race we watched as the riders settled into a more steady train, with axiss still leading, it was UmSlurp__ who battled from the rear of the pack all the way to 2nd and slowly gaining on the points leader, HockeyDrew in front of Squalay, and Squalay ahead of Rom1297. This would present a special circumstance In that order it was recognized that finishing that way would clinch the AOSX title for Axiss. As time wore down we would see an extravagant battle form between runner-up riders HockeyDrew and Squalay with Bejito_UI hot on their knobbies. In the final laps Squalay got around Hockey, not just putting him on the podium, but that would have given him one more week to battle for the title, but as quick as you could think about it, HockeyDrew collected on some debt Squalay owed him from the week prior and helped seal his teammates championship. The night would finish out with Axiss, the 2021 AOSX ST Champion, in the lead, UmSlurp__ the rookie that set the SX world on fire this season, and HockeyDrew on the last step of the box. Squalay and Bejito_UI would ride back to the pits with fourth and fifth place finishes between the teammates. Or anyone you want to thank? Axiss__: “Feels great to get it done early. It’s what I play the game for. Last thing on my mind is the perfect season but if I don’t end up getting it it’s ok. Best I’ve ever been this early in to one of these games and stoked to wrap it up early” 11 Milestones official eSports timed qualifying sessions started on May 7th, a lot of people are wanting to try their hand there and be dubbed the official best on the game. Who do you think will take that crown? 🙁 The AOSX Heavyweight Invitational was held last night with virtually every single notable name on the game. (minus Goon ) The race was formatted to have a bit of a throwback feel as we reintroduced Semi-qualifiers in as well as an LCQ. After getting all the transferred riders into the lobby, riders prepared for a realistic length triple crown. Before we get too far, in order to keep some space, we will not go into any details of anything other than the Main Event. We will name the transferred riders, but will not cover heats. We do have results posted at the bottom of this article. Transferred riders would include CharlieQX44, Rom1297, Rdizzle716, ItzzHockeyDrew, Tallon214, and anthonymart263 from the first Semi; Squalay, Axiss___, BullDGN, Bejito_UI, Parker7575, and TommyWack231 from the 12 second Semi. The first main event would be a foreshadow of what we would see for the rest of the night. HockeyDrew claimed victory in the first Moto, axiss in second, and Squalay in third. Moto 2 would see a very similar finishing sequence with Axiss___ in the one spot, HockeyDrew now into the two spot, and Squalay still lingering in third. The third and final moto would be for all the marbles as the leaders were tied with 3 points in the Olympic scoring format. Moto 3 would see a bit of a change-up early on with lone KTM pilot, Rdizzle, able to snag the holeshot and take off for a few laps until a cross rut would drop him back behind the leaders. Squalay would take the lead for a small instance before going down, putting the two nights points leaders right where they wann be Axiss and Hockey, GFuel teammates, tied for points with money on the line. We would see such consistency out of HockeyDrew and when Hockey is staying on two wheels, you had better do that same. Unfortunately for the Champ, he couldn’t get it done. Hockey would stay consistent and safe and was able to ride home to a huge victory over Axiss, and some Jang-a-Lang in his pocket. 13 T’s Top Ten Hello everyone and welcome to my personal top 10 SX riders list. A few things to note before we get started. This is only a list of riders I got to see race and actually remember, so it will only go back to 1996. Second, this is only covering their 450/250 two stroke SX career. Anything they did on the 125 or 250 will not be considered. Lastly, it will encompass their entire career, not just looking at their best races or their highest peak, although those are considered. #10 Kevin Windham Why: Best SX Championship Finish: 2nd (3x) SX Victories: 18 Years Active: 1997-2013 Arguably the best rider in SX history to never win a championship, this fan favorite had the smoothest 14 riding style anyone could imagine. He had the unfortunate luck of being born between two legends, Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael, so his accolades aren’t near what they otherwise could have been. At his best, he could beat anyone on their best day. He had 2 SX seasons in his prime taken away from him after a brutal crash that broke his femur in the middle of 2002. He was quadding twice in a rhythm section, something unheard of at the time. He wouldn’t see a SX track again until the 2004 opener. In what likely would have been his final SX victory in the 2011 Vegas Supercross, James Stewart himself uncorked a quad-triple-triple in a rhythm section that no rider had even attempted. Who followed suit the next lap? You guessed it. KDub. No one else. A true superstar of his era that will, in all likelihood, start to fade away as the newer crowd only has the record books to go off of, Kevin Windham no doubt deserves a spot here in the top ten. 15 BHBLACKHAWK PARKER7574 Swerrd 16 Dos and Dont’s Sportsmanship is always a refreshing thing to see on the racetrack. Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good rivalry and hard racing, but sometimes we find ourselves stepping a bit over the line and that’s okay. Until it becomes a habit. Here is where each week we will award a separate Sportsmanship award to one rider across the three series. This week, the award would go out to none other than Clapper4545, who, in an early race incident, took Natrix_114 out at the weeks first race, but once seeing he was behind him on the last lap while in the final transfer spot, he pulled over and gave the transfer to Natrix. Great work out there Clapper! Way to keep faith in being a good sport alive! On the other hand, we’d like to extend the favor of listing the week's disciplinary-affected riders so that other series will know who to keep an eye on. Please do not discriminate because of a rider's past if they have had an incident or two This article is to help you keep tabs on who is a regular on the list. The Rut understands that this game has its moments of lag, or aggravation. Please don’t let that anger make you do something that will take you out of the competition for the weeks to come. Let’s all play the game and have fun and don’t make me write your name on this list! 17 This Weeks Dunces ● PSE- Killer_Zombie023: Dirty Riding - 2 Week Suspension ● AOSX- Smokebag95: Dirty Riding - Remainder of the Season ● AOSX- TwisterFrenzy: Dirty Riding - Remainder of the Season ● AOSX- Samwow51: Dirty Riding/AFK In Main Line - Suspended from S2.R1 ● AOSX- TommyWack231: Dirty Riding - Probation for the rest of S1 18 Next week we will see the come-down from a very very busy weekend in the SX world With eSX timed trials starting this past Friday, as well as IOMA, PSE, AOSX, and the AOSX Heavyweight Invitational on Saturday. However there is no rest for the wicked, we’re gonna pack up and do it all again at three different tracks! IOMA_PS will be heading to Florida to race at the same track the community has been grinding for eSX, Tampa, on Tuesday. At this point in the games life, we should see one of the best races so far out of this event. You won’t want to miss this one! PSE is a series that prides themselves on the element of surprise. To learn what track they’ll be racing Thursday go follow them on Instagram @ProSupercrosseSport for all information in real-time! AOSX will be running their 9th round of their stock track season Friday night at San Diego, the same track IOMA_PS raced just this past Tuesday. We look to see a good race similar to the one expected from IOMA. San Diego is a very technical track that will test your abilities to keep your thumbs steady to the max. With multiple lines, tricky berms, and a final 90° turn into the finish that is always rutted out This is a favorite for many, but we at The Rut know what San Diego means to riders like BullDGN and IowaHawkeyes. 19 We appreciate the flood of support from our beloved SX community. Also, I’d like to take the time to thank and put on @ItsTheFatFriends for their awesome work put into making this first volume what it was. We hope you all continue to read and share these around. The communities across platforms are starting to merge and we feel like The Rut will be a great ground-breaking factor on that merger. But we need your help!! Share this magazine around and get the word out about what we’re trying to do. With greater success will come greater content! All love, I-xG00Nx-I 20
