Delays and a possible reversal from potentially significant opposition within Congress and the Administration created uncertainty for implementation. Problem Solution Result By assisting in outreach to key stakeholders and assisting Afghanistan in telling their story, STRYK was able to ensure continued and expanded bilateral defense cooperation and U.S operational and financial support This included the delivery of the Blackhawk helicopters to help combat the Taliban and other terrorist forces in the country. STRYK developed a targeted engagement plan for the Afghanistan Embassy focusing on key Congressional leaders and their staff along with senior White House, State Department, and Defense officials to educate them on the ongoing need for American operations in the country. By ensuring top Afghanistan officials met with the correct stakeholders , we were able to advocate the vital story of how direct bilateral cooperation must continue in our fight against terrorism As part of this effort, we helped the Embassy further promote their needs via dinners with key stakeholders to keep the dialogue open at all relevant levels of the U.S. government. 7 Case Study - Bahrain The Kingdom of Bahrain waited years for the U.S. State Department approval for sale of 12 AH - 1Z U.S. produced attack helicopters for the Royal Bahraini Air Force as much needed replacements for the nation's aging older - model AH - 1s. Not only did the deal face continued deferment by U.S. officials, but there was also significant potential for opposition from certain circles within the U.S. Congress. Problem Solution Result Within two months of engaging with STRYK, the U.S. government approved the sale despite many years of delays to no opposition from within the U.S. Congress. The approval benefits Bahrain, the U.S., and ally defense and geopolitical needs within the region. In addition, the approval supports U.S. manufacturers such as, Bell Helicopter, Textron, General Electric, and Honeywell while also creating American jobs across a vast array of states. In coordination with Bahrain's Ambassador to the U.S., STRYK directly engaged with key officials overseeing the $911.4 million deal , including the Defense Security Cooperation Agency as well as stakeholders in the U.S. Congress and State Department to ensure understanding of Bahrain’s need for such vehicles. 8 Case Study - Democratic Republic of the Congo In 2018 after a two - year delay in holding constitutionally mandated free and open elections for president, The Democratic Republic of Congo government was under intense pressure from the United States, European countries, and other nations of the Africa Union to follow through on democratic elections. Problem Solution Result As a result of STRYK's assistance, the DRC not only held a violence - free election , but it resulted in the first change of the country's leader via polls since the nation's independence with opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi becoming the country's next President while ensuring U.S. support and cooperation with the new government. Working in coordination with the office of President Joseph Kabila and U.S. authorities, STRYK negotiated with the U.S. State Department and officials from nations in the region to ensure that planned elections went off with minimal problems and delays in coordination without negative outside interference. 9 Case Study - Helitech British Columbia - based Helitech is the only remanufacturer of the UH - 60 Blackhawk in North America. Due to a delivery backlog, an opportunity was created for Helitech to enter into an agreement with the Colombian government to secure, repair, and deliver three UH - 60 Blackhawk Helicopters Nonetheless, near the end of project the U.S. government decided that the gyroscope - a key part necessary for repairing the helicopters - was in violation of U.S. regulations and thus halting the entire project. Problem Solution Result Helitech received all the necessary U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls approvals allowing for the delivery of the Black Hawks to the Colombian government and the gyroscope being taken off the International Traffic in Arms Regulation list of banned devices. Due to the importance of the project, the U.S. government also expedited the approval process. STRYK drafted an extensive white paper to educate the U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (which administers U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations) on the reasons why gyroscopes should not be on the list of banned devices ; met with U.S. policymakers to explain why the gyroscope should not be on the list of banned devices; and educated policymakers on how the project directly benefited the U.S. economically and geopolitically. 10 Case Study - Horizon Pharma Problem Solution Result Thanks to STRYK's efforts in coordination with our client, we were able to secure changes to H.R. 1 that prevented punitive damages to our client's bottom line. These efforts saved our clients millions of dollars in compliance and corporate restructuring. STRYK's outreach revolved around White House , Congressional, federal agency, and third - party groups with top officials, members, and staff, in which we effectively educated and advocated how some of the proposed changes to the tax code would negatively impact business models like our clients and the U.S. economy overall. With no significant relationships within a the newly elected Administration , the Kenyan Foreign Ministry turned to STRYK's team of experts to build relationships with the Administration along with educating key decision makers at the Department of Commerce on the importance of AGOA to the Kenyan economy and regional security. After 17 years of growing trade between the United States and Kenya under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), the Kenyan government faced the potential loss of duty - free access to the United States market for its goods. 12 Case Study - Korean International Trade Association Problem Solution Result STRYK secured the U.S. Secretary of Commerce for a keynote speech along with attendance by other senior administration officials as well as ensured attendance by senior members of the U.S. Congress and other federal agencies. With our assistance, the event was not only more dynamic than in previous years, but served as a highly effective introduction of the trade association and its members to the new U.S. administration STRYK recommended that a top U.S. cabinet secretary be secured to speak at the event and that we assist the association with their invitation and turnout efforts to broaden attendance beyond the usual congressional staffers and lawmakers who came to the event every year to senior administration and private sector officials. The Korea International Trade Association, the largest representative organization for Korean businesses in world, was looking to have a greater and more significant impact with its annual United States congressional reception and leverage the event to build relationships with a newly installed Executive Branch. 13 Case Study – New Zealand Problem Solution Result As a result of STRYK's assistance and strategic guidance, the relationship between the United States government and New Zealand has been robust and fruitful on a litany of policy issues important to the Kiwi's. Days after the 2016 U.S. presidential election, STRYK facilitated a phone call for New Zealand's Prime Minister with the then U.S. President - elect. That introduction was followed with STRYK coordinating, planning, and co - hosting an inauguration week gala attended by incoming White House staff , prominent lawmakers, and other Washington power players. The only event hosted by a foreign nation recognized by the inaugural committee; it served as the opening step of engagement that was followed with a dinner series hosted by the Ambassador for Administration officials. The New Zealand Embassy faced what was perceived as potential for being frozen out of a new, incoming, and largely unknown United States administration that outwardly appeared at odds with many of this Five Eye Intelligence partner’s international policy goals. 14 Case Study – Industrial Zambian Labor Dispute Problem Solution Result The insight we received from our coordinated operation armed the client with information necessary to forecast the outcome of the employment negotiation which allow our client to take swift action to mitigate the impact on their supply chain and delivery capabilities Our team hired local nationals to interview the striking workers , senior management, and local government officials in order to identify the contributing factors to the labor impasse along with assessing the likelihood of a timely resolution.
