These collection costs can add up to one- third additional expense to a student’s indebtedness to the School. Tuition Payment Deadlines While the School reserves the right to release courses due to non-payment following payment deadlines, it is the student’s responsibility to drop or withdraw fr om planned coursework prior to the start of courses to avoid financial responsibility. The School has discontinued the practice of daily course deletion due to non-payment to allow for additional processing time of expected payment sources. It is critical to follow-up on all expected payment sources and make sure the funds have applied to your account to secure your course selections. This includes student financial aid, payment plans, and third-party payments. Refunds The effective date for the calculation of a refund for a credit course shall be the date the drop/withdrawal form is filed in the Office of Admissions and Records. In the event a course fails to meet the published number of days prior to the refund deadline, the deadline will be adjusted accordingly. The following schedule for refunds of tuition and fees will apply: No refund of registration and late registration fee unless all of a student’s courses are canceled by the School. One hundred percent (100%) tuition and related fees (except registration fees) refunded if courses are dropped before classes begin. All students are expected to regularly attend classes. Those who are absent from one or more classes will be held responsible for material missed during their absence. Individual faculty members (or the members of a department collectively) may establish specific attendance requirements for passing and achieving particular grades in individual courses. Students will be notified in writing of any such requirements at the beginning of the term. Copies of all such requirements also will be on file in the office of the division offering the course. It is the student’s responsibility to clearly understand any announced attendance requirements for a course he or she is taking and to act accordingly. 17 Schedules of Classes The School posts on its website the list of courses being offered, the official academic calendar, the final examination schedule, and a variety of other important dates and deadlines that are not published anywhere else. The schedule is available online prior to the start of registration. Final Exam Schedule The final exam schedule is included in the schedule of classes and is posted online. The last week of classes in the fall and spring semesters is scheduled differently from previous weeks so that comprehensive final examinations may be given. While not all classes may include comprehensive final exams during this time, all classes will meet for the scheduled time for whatever activities the Instructors feel are appropriate to conclude the semester. Students are responsible for knowing when their courses’ final meetings will be and for planning their time accordingly. Grades Grades may be viewed online through Email or a School Link as soon as they are submitted and verified. The School no longer mails grade reports. Students who have an outstanding debt with the School will not be able to view grades until the debt is paid. Students who wish to receive their grades by mail must request that service in writing at the Office of Records and Registration each semester. Any student who wishes to question a grade should contact the instructor of the course within 30 days of the electronic posting of the grade. Appeals that are filed after 30 days of the electronic posting of the grade will not be considered.
