I started taking photos on family trips and loved to show my work to anyone who took interest (back then I shot on slide film and gave presentations at my church)! I even sold note cards and won a few contests! Fast forward several years, and I was honored to attend a nationally ranked magnet school for visual and graphic communications where I learned about the principles of design and took many courses in photography. Even while I attended Cornell University where I studied Health Policy, I kept my photography dream alive and bought my first DSLR camera after winning a $2,000 essay contest. My mom passed away from brain cancer while I was in college, and it was this experience that made me realize the importance of photos in keeping special memories and loved ones alive long after they are gone. My first wedding was in 2011 for college friends right after graduation. The rest is history! I lived in the DC and NYC areas for years and got to shoot at many unique locations before coming to North Carolina, where I live with my wonderful husband and 3 dogs in Apex. Combined, my background in art, 10+ years of photography experience, and a natural love of planning and order has made me passionate about not only capturing beautiful moments, but creating an experience that is organized and stress-free for my couples. I love laughing poses, candid poses, and poses with movement, but also emotional and edgy editorial-style poses that will make you look and feel like a model (think Vogue magazine)! My approach to posing is sophisticated and timeless, not cheesy and fake. In addition, I always take into account any body image concerns expressed by clients and aim to pose in the most flattering way. We shoot with industry-leading cameras and lenses that are capable of performing in low-light conditions. Our photographers are experienced in navigating a variety of challenging lighting scenarios and using off- camera flash, to make your photos look their best in any light. We will offer you tips and suggestions before and during your wedding day to make it as photo-friendly as possible (e.g., standing in one location vs. another location during your reception speeches or cake cutting to get better lighting and composition for photos). The benefits of our experience do not stop on the wedding day. There are no travel fees for weddings within 40 miles of Samantha Holloway’s home and studio in Apex, NC. Additional round-trip miles to be covered by the couple at a rate of 62.5 cents per mile (the standard IRS 2022 rate) For longer distances, we ask that you cover the cost of roundtrip airfare, lodging, and transportation (as needed) Heirloom-Quality Prints We make purchasing high-quality prints from your wedding images simple. Place your order directly through your online gallery and have it shipped to you, a family member, or friend. This ensures that your prints will utilize the original high-resolution images and will be processed by one of the finest printing labs in the country. Drug store photo printing distorts color - this is never a concern with our printing. +1 Hour of Coverage Couples may add additional hours of photography coverage to any package.
