People aren’t totally sure how you can help them so you always have to explain what you do. 2. Which means you’re constantly chasing clients. 3. And blending into the sea of aspiring online coaches and consultants already on the market. 4. You never stand out, and say things like “online coaching is too saturated!” 5. You struggle to market yourself and your services, because you’re not really too sure what you’re selling, meaning that getting clients is an absolute chore. 6. You create a ton of extra work for yourself through creating too many products or offers. 7. When you do finally get clients, you have to bend over backwards for each one which means 50+ hour work weeks - making your business a glorified job. 8. Your prices are way too low and you literally cannot push them up because you don’t have the client results or clarity to do so. 9. Industry knowledge Use your knowledge of your niche. For example, if your niche is fitness for single Dads, perhaps you already know that their biggest problem is struggling to eat healthy and workout with kids around. Maybe you know this because you ARE one of those people, or because you have peers who are. (Important note - what you THINK people struggle with often isn't what they ACTUALLY struggle with. We will be going more into that later on in this e-book). Market Research Ask your current clients/followers what they find hardest. You can use your Instagram story using the 'questions' and 'poll' features. E.g. 'when it comes to fat loss, what do you find the hardest?'). The best market research is one-on-one conversations with real people. You can join niche Facebook groups and post "what is your biggest struggle when it comes to ____?" Then, get DEEPER into it once those people have replied to you. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 8 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 IMPORTANT Combining your industry knowledge plus your finding in the market research phase, you’ll start to find key insights about people, their problems and what they want to achieve. You will start to notice a TREND in what people are struggling with, which means that is what you should focus your Impact Offer on. It may be different to what you expected. Never guess and never create something just because you think they need it. Humans are irrational. They may want to buy cigarettes but actually need to give up smoking (example). Later; I'll talk about how to overcome this problem... 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 9 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 "WHAT?! BUT, LAUREN!!! I CAN'T CHARGE MORE THAN OTHER PEOPLE!!!" Pricing is something which a lot of people struggle with, so I want to ask you some probing questions to help you think through this clearly... Think about when you first got into your niche. E.g. if you are a fat loss coach... when you first started losing fat. How long ago was it? How much money did you spend on trying to get there? How much time did you waste on all the other solutions? How much stress, heart-ache and pain did your transformation cost you? Now I want to know - if, back then, you knew what you know now... and money wasn't an object. How much would you have paid to know EVERYTHING you know now? "LAUREN... WHY ARE YOU SELLING ME A LOW TICKET EBOOK IF HIGH PRICING IS THE WAY TO GO?" 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 10 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 I come at this from a unique perspective, as someone who has done both sides in both the B2C space (fitness), and the B2B space (business). What I am about to say applies to all industries. Business is sequential. I.e., you shouldn't copy someone because it looks profitable/whatever else. You should do what is right for you to do At the Stage You Are At. You may see someone in your industry THRIVING through selling an online course; a live event; an e-book; a physical product... But what you are failing to recognise is what they have done BEFORE, to get to the stage where they can do that. If you're starting out, selling low ticket is stupid and dangerous. You may sell a few programs but you will be HUSTLING. Read this carefully: As an online fitness coach, I offered high ticket coaching ($4250) when I had no following. I had to come up with ways to get high ticket clients. But; my time was spent focusing on getting people on phone calls. I didn't need to create anything or pay anyone to do anything. Sure, I was producing high quality social media content to ensure people could trust me when I reach out to them (or to get them to make an enquiry with me). But the content I did make for my clients was simple... Documents and videos which were more casual. After a while, it became systematised. I knew how to make a sale when I wanted to make one, and I was able to effortlessly deliver results to my clients. I wasn't stressed and my mindset towards money shifted dramatically. I learned about myself and grew as a person. And that was all through selling high ticket. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 11 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 A year or so later, I had built a big following. And a mentor of mine said "JUST IMAGINE IF EVEN 1% OF YOUR AUDIENCE BUYS " - He sold me on the idea. So, I got to work. And I spent over 14 months writing two. Plus doing the photoshoots for them. And I payed a fortune for a graphic designer to make them look good. My e-books varied between £35-£55 ($50-$75 at the time). By this point, I had raving fans. The hashtag I created for my business, #StrengthFeed, has hundreds of thousands of posts under it. But do you want to know the craziest thing? Despite the fact that I was an "influencer," the press was making articles about me, and I was sponsored by Gymshark... It was HARDER to keep my income as high as it was when I was selling high ticket. That might be surprising to hear... But, having now coached dozens of influencers on business, some of whom I'm sure you follow... You'd be even more shocked to discover how broke they are when they first come to me. Here's the thing: low ticket is a race to the bottom . Back then, I was competing against other influencers... Who started selling a subscription for $7 per month. Yes, I had loyal fans. But it took at least a week for someone to become one. I had to maintain my image and trust and couldn't constantly be pitching. It was exhausting. Then, when I tried to switch back to high ticket... People were confused and I knew they'd think that all I cared about was money. That's because they were comparing me to others who did a similar thing to me. High ticket allows you to differentiate yourself from everyone else. The sheer fact that your price is high attracts the RIGHT people. So, that's why I switched back to a high-ticket model. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 12 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 Anyhow - back to your question re. why I am selling you a low-ticket product right now? Because, business is sequential. I'm at a 6-figure per month stage. It makes SENSE for me now. Here are the reasons why having a low-ticket funnel once you are at (AT LEAST) $30,000 per month, consistently, make sense: IMPACT - You have the team, free time, and resources available to create more things and help more people. I know that people who buy this are people who, perhaps, don't have good enough credit to take out a loan to work with me like a lot of my clients do. That means they can get the help they need to finally create the life they want. INCOME - I'm able to liquidate my ad costs. Running paid traffic is expensive. So, my low-ticket funnel means that I can downsell to people who come into contact with my high ticket funnel and recoup the $$$ which is cost me to get my ads in front of them. IMPLEMENTATION - I teach what I do and provide it all "done for you" to my high-ticket clients. Creating this funnel took me HOURS. I will spend months testing and tweaking based on the data, to see what works. Then, my VIP Mastermind clients don't have to make their own when they reach the $30,000 mark. They can simply implement what I've done and use it for themselves. When people pay, they pay attention. And to make an income in the most stress-free way, you need to increase your prices and have a high- ticket offer. This is possible and you will feel good about it when you have an Impact Offer. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 13 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 Your money mindset sucks. Remember - even if YOU think that the price point is high, you are not the one paying for it. Your potential clients HAVE money. And if they don't, then it means you are not communicating the value of your offer clearly enough OR you need to target a new niche/problem to attract a more committed type of client. (I once tried to make a high ticket offer for University students to get stronger and it flopped because they were too broke). WHEN PEOPLE PAY, THEY PAY ATTENTION. Charging a high ticket is actually a good thing for your clients: Which means they actually get the result that they came to you for. So, they're happy and will give you a testimonial AND speak positively about you to the people they know. That means it's easier for you to get more clients and you feel good about yourself & your business, knowing that you are changing people's lives. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 14 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 Charging more is better Here is a couple more reasons why charging more is better for you and your clients: 1 - You don’t need as many clients. So each client gets more of your time PLUS you get to work fewer hours. In that spare time you have, you can either go and do the things you love to do, OR you can focus on getting even more clients. 2 - You are seen as more of an expert and you stand out in your industry and a top player. That attracts quality people and gives you more change of becoming a key influencer in your industry. 3 - You have more time to do the things you love, or already have so many clients that you had extra time to simply focus on getting more to increase your profit margins even more.... 4 - You get to ONLY work with people who are actually going to put in the work... Which is much more rewarding as an online coach/consultant. 5 - Your re-sign rate is much higher because people actually get results. The beauty of your Impact Offer is that it's 12 weeks long. So once people are done, they got some results but want more. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 15 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 "Err... Lauren... How can I sell something which I haven't even created yet?!" "Err... Friend... Very easily." :) Making sales = validating your offer. Imagine if you were to put in all the work, only to find out that nobody wants to buy... Even Elon Musk doesn't do that. You'd have spent so much time, energy and effort on creating something that people don't even want. Doing this is a bad idea. Instead, get five sales and AFTER that, create all the content. They are testing it out before you launch it to everyone else! Even if you've already had clients in some way before, this is critical. Because your Impact Offer is different. If you can make sales based upon your "map," through marketing the TRANSFORMATION (aka the OUTCOME) that you provide, then you know it is something which people want and which is scalable to six figures. It means you have PROOF OF CONCEPT. PLUS, it shows that you have highlighted the transformation you're providing clearly enough that people say YES, and value the transformation more than they value their money. 5 x $2000 = $10,000 ...And that's just from you coming up with an idea! And, me being highly modest with the $2000 pricing. That's just about as low as you should go. 5 Steps To 5 Online Clients 17 © Impact School 2019 - 2020 How to make sales, FAST How You'll Be Working With Your Beta Testers: When signing them up, you will be making it very clear to your Beta Testers that they're an exclusive, special early adopter who's getting extra hands on help so that they can get their results faster. Each week, your Beta Testers will provide you with feedback on how your coaching/consulting is, so that you can perfect it for the future and your clients who are going to pay you the full price! You will be asking them very specific questions each week so that you can improve your Impact Offer. And then, you will have testimonials from them to market your Impact Offer into the future to get even more clients! Its good for your clients! Because the feedback you are gathering allows you to make your Impact Offer UNREAL! So, here are a few key pointers on what to do (this should take you no longer than 15 mins): Create a document which outlines your Impact Offer with 5-10 bullet points. These are key phases they need to go through to have change. Each bullet point represents a step you will be taking your clients through. DO NOT CREATE ANYTHING. JUST CREATE AN OUTLINE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING WITH YOUR CLIENTS. .....You will see why in Step 5. :) You can post your outline into the Inner Circle FB group [password = BlackFriday] to gather feedback from hundreds of my clients.
