Proposed Boycott of OnlyOneOf's Upcoming Release Circulating Due to Ongoing Concerns with 8D Entertainment After the release of OnlyOneOf's group teaser, sans Love/ Park Jisung whose amicable departure has yet to be publicly finalized by the company, many fans on twitter and beyond are saying this is the final straw. OnlyOneOf's fans, LyOns, were blindsided by the sudden statement of Love's departure from the group due to his status as the group's leader and main vocalist, and his most recent personal updates expressing his excitement for the new songs they were working on. The statement was first met with confusion since, as of this posting, it was released only on the group's fancafe in Korean and later with a Japanese translation on the group's Japanese fancafe. This came as a shock to many as the group's agency, 8D Entertainment, has previously acknowledged the presence of international fans by providing subtitles and translations in English as well, even for the shortest of videos and posts. 8D had promised a rescheduling of fan events, but due to the ongoing pandemic and their continued silence toward OnlyOneOf's fanbase, that promise has not materialized. Since the departure statement, which was only posted on fancafe in Korean, a language not easily translated by many international fans, the official Twitter account for the group has only posted announcements about their "ultra-lyOn" kit. Nothing further has been said to clarify Love/Park Jisung's departure from the group, despite repeated calls from fans to clarify their initial statement. Ongoing concerns since the release of the August 2nd statement on fancafe include: ● Inaccessibility of the statement about Love’s departure ● Concerns about the vague content of the statement and consequent silence from the company ● Their track record of mishandling important statements ● Concerns about 8D’s behavior and the impact it has on the group and company’s image ● His image being removed from sns accounts without said account posting notice of his departure from the group ● The rapid removal of all forms of communications to and from Love, including the continued banning of fanclub members and mass deletion of letters with any mention of Love/ Park Jisung LyOn's more recent concerns are about how rushed this comeback seems, coming only 35 days after Love’s departure statement was posted. Fans also noticed the members only began to return to their personal Twitter account after their individual teasers were posted. While the idea of a boycott is still very divisive within the fanbase, many see it as a last resort since all previous attempts of expressing concern have been ignored. The planned boycott, drafted by OnlyOneOf Support, entails : ● Not buying the album; up to 90% of profit goes to 8D. ● Not streaming the album on official streaming platforms (Melon, Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, etc.) ● Not buying the songs or albums digitally (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.) ● Not watching, streaming, or liking the MV. ● Not interacting with official social media accounts ran by 8D (like, reply, retweet, quote retweet etc) — this does not apply to @onlyoneofmember Fans that are pursuing this option reiterate this is not an attempt to reinstate Love or pry into his personal life. They seek clarification and finality on the statements already presented and to reinforce the necessity of having clear communication on major issues that affect the entire fanbase. The continued lack of communication from 8D Entertainment is breeding mistrust among OnlyOneOf’s fanbase and they are wary that without drastic action, this situation can occur to any of the remaining members.
