The new residents of 26 Bainton Street, Yonkers, NY 10704 moved into their house on December 4th, 2019. It all began quickly. Construction trucks, moving trucks, dozens of different cars parked illegally all over the place was the first issue. They would also disturb the peace by making excessive noise earlier than 8am and later than 10am. Local laws/ordinances in this area require excessive noise to cease at 10pm, and to not begin again until after 8am. This has been in effect for decades and most of our other neighbors have always understood and respected this rule, but not 26. This became a further issue as one resident, who owns a silver 2008 Honda Civic, NY license plate number JJZ6224, started making excessive noise at inappropriate times. This vehicle has a modified horn which is louder than that of a standard motor vehicle. This vehicle also has a modified alarm/keyfob that sounds several excessively loud beeps each time it is locked and unlocked. This issue is further exaggerated by the fact that the owner will press his keyfob no less than 3 times each time he enters and exits his vehicle. This results in dozens of consecutive excessively loud beeps and this happens more than several times, each and every single day, but most importantly, all through the night. This individual seems to be on the move 24 hours a day. The horn will sound at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, it doesn't matter. It has become a random guessing game of what time we will all be woken up each night. This individual is constantly coming and going all night every night. This vehicle also has an excessively loud modified exhaust. This is also further exaggerated by the fact that the driver can not leave his residence without flooring it each and every single time. This also includes drag racing. This means that he will floor it, make a U-Turn at the intersection of Empire Street and Bainton Street, floor it up the street again to his residence, make a U-Turn, then floor it again as he finally leaves for the time being. He will do this along with his friends cars as well and this is a very common occurrence. Reminder that this is a residential street with a speed limit of 25mph with our children who play outside and our pets who are frequenting our yards and sidewalks. This is unacceptable. These issues are still happening to this day. The next problem that started shortly after this, which was their second weekend here, was the excessively loud music. The level of this music is not of a typical weekend party, but the type that contains bass that will make your china cabinets shake. This is literally what we were experiencing, as well as several of our neighbors according to their accounts of what happened. Some of us ended up with broken items that fell off shelves/cabinets because the bass would create a constant vibration/buzzing through out our homes. This is not something that would just happen for a few moments. This would be going on for hours. And this would continue to happen each and every weekend, sans 1 or 2, still to this very day. This music could be heard at random times in the middle of the night. It is another guessing game; will it be heard at 2am? 4am? We never know. It seems this once residential property has turned into a commercial property, serving as a nightclub of some sort. Next is the parking. This is probably the most frequent issue, however the two noted above are the most SERIOUS issues obviously. These residents constantly have dozens, literally 12+ or more cars as guests each and every weekend (note that this is also an everyday issue on weekdays, but to a lesser degree. It is still an issue but on the weekends it is greatly multiplied) Just about every single guest's car (this goes for all the resident's vehicles as well if they cannot find their usual parking spot) is parked illegally. They park at least 1-2 feet away from the curb. They park diagonally with either the rear or the front of their car sticking into the street. They park in front of driveways. They have previously blocked, and we have counted, at least 6 separate driveways. They park on top of curbs/sidewalks. They park in their driveway, but only halfway, and they do so with extended cab SUVs, with the vehicle blocking the enitre sidewalk, but also partially obstructing the street. The rear or front of the vehicle will protrude several feet into the road, causing a very dangerous situation, as cars slow down to avoid it and have to manuevre around. But, their favorite place to park, is in front of the fire hydrant. There is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, a car in front of that hydrant. And it isn't a matter of stopping by and parking there for a few minutes, no. Cars stay there for several hours, and most of the time, they stay overnight, the entire night. 12-16 hours of blocking a hydrant. Again, this happens each and every weekend. And last but not least, they love to park DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. This is actually true as hard is it may be to believe. Several times a car has been parked in the center of the road; in between two normally (typically) parked cars alongside it, meaning that there is no way around. They are blocking traffic! Each time this happens, cars queue up and sit and wait, honking their horns. There isn't anywhere to go. The first time this happened, a UPS truck was the first to arrive to the blockage. He had to get out of his truck and look around to try to understand what was going on. Mind you this was when it was already dark outside, making this all the more difficult for him and the other drivers. He eventually make a correct guess on which residents to ask, and proceeded to ring 26's doorbell and have them move their vehicle. We couldn't believe this was actually happening. The second time this happened, they luckily left about 1 inch of space for standard size vehicles to go around, but cars would again stop and beep as they didnt want to chance hitting the vehicles. One larger SUV did attempt to squeeze thru and actually ended up having to scrape against the bumper a bit. They just continued on, but the fact remains that the illegally parked car did cause a very minor fender bender car accident. The third time this happened, or at least the third time that any of us witnessed it, was similiar to the first instance, without the UPS vehicle. Cars lining up and beeping until the individual finally came outside to move his vehicle. This has happened as recently as this weekend and is still currently an ongoing issue. Next is their dogs. Two very small dogs, maltese/poodle size. These dogs have never once been on a leash. They are let out the front door to do their business a dozen times a day and each time they run into the street and onto other peoples properties. The lesser issue here is that they will defecate on other people's properties and it isnt ever cleaned up. Bigger issue with this is the owner will trespass to retrieve them. He has been seen entering and passing latched gates to go retrieve his pets. This is illegal. This happens ALL the time. The larger issue with the leashless dogs is that they run into the street unsupervised and are never yelled at or retrieved (he'll trespass other properties to retrieve them, but won't step into the street to retrieve them). It seems that the owners perceive the street as a dogs playground. As you could probably predict, there have been several instances where drivers slam on their brakes to avoid killing the dogs. This is truly despicable as these residents are now putting innocent pets, as well as other innocent drivers', lives at risk. Unacceptable. On one instance of a driver having to slam his brakes, he exited his vehicle and got into a serious verbal altercation with the dog owner. Seems that the dog owner had no care for where his dogs were running and that it wasnt his fault they were in the street and in so many words essentially told to driver to go scratch. This is not acceptable behavior. There are many, many other issues and we could go on for days explaining them all, but the above are what's causing SERIOUS issues for all of us that have lived here for years, decades, and have abided by all laws and have lived peacefully among each other. When these residents moved in, we lost all of that. And that is the most important aspect of all of this that we believe is not ever considered in these issues with 26. How it affects us. We are all working class people. We go to sleep when its dark, and wake up when the sun rises. We get up and go to work. We are all human, meaning that we are all REQUIRED to get some amount of sleep in order to function as said humans the next day. Some people need only 4 hours, some need 8. However, if you live anywhere near 26 Bainton, you get ZERO. As previously mentioned, the civic owner, along with an endless amount of all different types of cars, are constantly coming and going all through the night (this itself is quite suspicious and it seems they are engaging in some type of illegal activity which should be looked into as well). However, they all like to beep and rev their engine and floor it and yell and make as much noise as possible when doing so. They have mistaken this residential area for a public hangout, and their doing it IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. All of the previously mentioned issues take place at night 95% of the time, mostly during the hours in which noise is to be kept at a minimum (10pm- 8am). As stated in the beginning, this all began in the first week of December. We are now approaching the end of February. It has been almost 3 months of this insanity, and nothing has been done about it. It just gets worse each and every day. You can imagine the toll this has taken on us. We have jobs, careers in which we must fulfill our duties each day, and do so efficiently and effectively so that we may earn our next paycheck. We have been less and less efficient each day that we are losing sleep because of these people. Our jobs are at risk. Our LIVES are at risk because if we lose our paycheck, how do we live? We have children. We have to take care of our children. When we don't sleep anymore, how do we take care of our children, nevermind show up to work and do a good job? We all, as working adults, understand what it takes to get up every morning and do the things we do. But we do so with the ability to sleep beforehand. We are all losing that ability and our lives are being seriously affected. Our lives are deteriorating. Besides sleep, our quality of live overall is affected! We do not have quiet or peaceful time anymore! You can not read a book, or lie in your bed to rest or nap, or even spend any time outside as there are constant disturbances from 26. This goes for our children too. Our children even complain! Mommy, Daddy, who is making all that noise? Mommy, Daddy, we've been really tired, we keep hearing sounds in the night and it wakes us up. THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM. OUR CHILDREN'S GRADES ARE NOW BEING AFFECTED! OUR CHILDREN GO TO SCHOOL EXHAUSTED BECAUSE THEY CANT SLEEP BECAUSE 26 BAINTON IS OUT OF CONTROL!! TRY TAKING AN EXAM THAT YOU COULDN'T EVEN STUDY FOR BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER ANY QUIET TIME TO DO SO, AND THEN ON TOP OF THAT NOT HAVING YOUR BRAIN OPERATING PROPERLY BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T EVEN GO TO SLEEP! OUR CHILDREN, AND WE TOO, ARE ZOMBIES! WE DO NOT SLEEP! OUR FUTURE, OUR NAMESAKES, OUR OFFSPRING IN WHICH WE DEDICATE OUR LIVES TOWARDS, ARE BEING SERIOUSLY AFFECTED BY THESE PEOPLE. This is the saddest part of all of this because our innocent children who don't even understand what's going on, have to deal with this BS. THIS AFFECTS THEIR FUTURE. YOUR FUTURE. OUR FUTURE. This is being written as of February 16th, 2020. Last night, the civic owner arrived home at around 1235am, of course making all the possible noises one could make, to alert the entire neighborhood that he was home. Then, after his announcement of arrival, he proceeded to floor it down the street. This car is LOUD. Remember, a modified exhaust ripping through a narrow residential street; it sounds like a damn JET ENGINE. This woke up the entire neighborhood. Oh, but we thought he was just leaving again, we thought he was done, but he was not. He proceeded to make an illegal U- Turn in the middle of the intersection of Empire Street and Bainton Street, and then floored it up the street again, scaring the hell out of everyone, INCLUDING OUR CHILDREN, for the SECOND time in 30 seconds, and waking up anyone he didnt wake up the first time he floored it. He then nonchalantly parks in front of his home, diagonally and 2 feet from the curb of course, gets out, locks his car about 4 times (which equals about 10-12 excessively loud beeps) and then runs full speed into his house while laughing. That should tell you all you need to know about all of this right there. These people are a bunch of delinquents and they know they are and they are deliberately disturbing the peace 24 hours a day. This is a SERIOUS, SERIOUS problem. If these people are going to continue to live here, this all needs to stop, or they need to find a new place to live. Clearly they don't understand how things work in society. We don't know where these people came from but it's definitely a different type of living and it is unacceptable here. Something must be done about this because it is only getting worse and we are all being greatly affected. Our jobs, our kids, our free time, it's all severely impacted by the residents at 26 Bainton and they need to shape up or ship out.
