Knitting Pattern – Champagne Bottle Knit a flat bottle to stick on the front of a home-made congratulations card, or make several 3D bottles and string them into a garland. Size: 5 or 6cm tall if you’re using Double Knit wool [8-6 ply, “light worsted”] Difficulty: Easy. The 3D one uses only knit, purl and k2tog stitches. The flat one uses a couple more stitches to achieve a smooth edge. You will need: • Wool in green, cream and gold. • Knitting needles • Tapestry needle Stitches: k2tog – knit two stitches together sl1k / sl1p – put your needle through the stitch as if to knit / purl, then just slide it across to the right needle. sl1k1psso – sl1k, knit 1, then pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch Pattern Flat bottle Cast on 6 stitches in green. 1: In green, knit 2: In green, sl1p, purl to end 3: In gold, knit 4: In gold, knit 5: In cream, knit 6: In cream, sl1p, purl to end 7: In gold, knit 8: In gold, knit 9: In green, knit 10: In green, sl1p, purl to end 11: In green, sl1k1psso, k2, k2tog [4] 12: In green, sl1p, purl to end 13: In green, sl1k, k2tog, k1 [3] 14: In green, sl1p, purl to end 15: In green, sl1k, knit to end 16: In green, sl1p, purl to end 17: In gold, knit 18: In gold, knit 19: In gold, knit 20: In gold, knit Cast off knitwise and tidy up loose ends. © Snoo’s Knits 2019. Roll the bottle up and stitch down the side-seam, hiding loose ends inside. You’ll find it’s too small to need any stuffing or a base. Gather the cast-on edge to close the hole in the bottom.
