Job Summary – Working under the Senior Pastor, the Pastor of Children’s and Family Ministries is responsible for developing and maintaining a vibrant youth ministry connecting children and families with Jesus. As a member of the Parish Staff they will help to vision and lead the other ministries of the church. As the lead for the Family Ministry Team they will provide a safe, spiritually enriching and educational environment for the youth participating in the ministry programs; and recruit, train and empower volunteers to be servant leaders on the team. This is a full-time position. Education and Experience - Firm foundation in and acceptance of God’s Word and the St Marks Ministry Guidebook - College graduate; seminary training or Bible College desired but not a requirement - Children’s or Family Ministry certification or similar, min 3 yrs Children’s Ministry experience - Passion to be a servant leader Job Responsibilities - Set vision for and manage Children’s and Family Ministry - Create and maintain working relationships with staff, team members and families - Attend school events and activities of core/committed children when possible - Conduct personal visits with children and families as necessary - Coordinate Bible studies and worship opportunities for children and families - Build and maintain relationships with elementary schools and special needs agencies in order to work with and support outreach opportunities - Develop and maintain 6-12 month ministry plan - Conduct yearly ministry audit with Family Ministry Team - Help plan and execute quarterly outreach opportunities for children and families Skills Required - Planning and scheduling - Ability to recruit, train and delegate to others - Basic computer use and knowledge - Written and oral communication, establishing and maintaining working relationships For more information or to apply, contact Pastor Dan Metzger dmetzger@stmarksfindlay.org Or Send resume to: St Marks UMC Attn: hiring 800 S Main St. Findlay, OH 45840
