The Fightin’ 396 // Newsletter, December 2019 elcome Legion Members, Sons of the American Legion, friends and family. The Fightin’ 396 is the name of our Post newsletter that will bring you up to date on what is happening with our post as we grow as an organization, with each other, and with our wonderful community in and around the Delaware Valley. We also want to extend a welcome hand to all servicemen who are currently serving, or who have served and wish to join our band of brothers in serving a higher purpose as men and women who have dedicated their lives to God, Country, and freedom for all people, both here and abroad. God bless Post 396, and God bless the United States of America. Reminding members can be difficult, especially for members living far away, so pat would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of some important matters. “All members need to get me a copy of their DD214 official discharge paperwork as soon as possible. We need to keep a record of your service on site for legal reasons.” All American Legion Posts nationwide must now keep records of all the service men and women who belong to their respective posts. In addition, please get your Next of Kin information sent in to Mr. Love. This is vital information needed for the Post to properly handle paperwork and ceremonies in the untimely passing of one of its members. If your dues and info are not in by January 1 st , 2020, you will not have any privileges as a member of the American Legion which includes all benefits except Veterans benefits, of course. This also applies for members of the SAL. To ensure you remain a member of Post 396, get your dues in as soon as possible. Please get this paperwork to the Post via mail, email, or directly at the Post during operating hours.
