So you want to join a sex cult? An Introduction to the Abyssian Union “No. Stop. Don’t.” Willy Wonka So you want to join a sex cult? 1 The Abyssian Union 2 3 The Abyssian Union Priestesses and Librarians - As with other religions, the Clergy of our Union are the framework on which our sacred journey moves forward. Union Clergy are separated into two orders, Priestess and Librarian. A Priestess rep- resents all that resonates with the divine feminine in all of us. A Librarian is our symbol of resonation with the sacred masculine. We do not have priests. So this is a great litmus test to see if someone is completely full of shit with their rela- tionship with the Union. Swipe left on all “High Priests of the Abyss” on Tinder. Now is a good time to talk about the role of the divine feminine and sacred masculine within our Union. We trust in the duality of both divine femininity and sacred masculinity within all of us. This leads to two things in how we worship. One , A Priestess or a Librarian is defined by the energy that clergy identifies the strongest with. It is in no way defined by the genitalia they were given at birth. If you feel the strong pull of the divine feminine, you are divinely feminine. If sacred masculinity calls to you, you are sacred masculine. That is the only qualifier or test, and it is self administered, and how you feel in your heart. Two , in ritual and tradition within the Union, various things will be designated as being the role of a priestess or librarian. For example, a ritual may in practice start with a direction like “The Priestess invites the congregation to kneel in reverence to the Abyss.” or “The Librarian blesses the vessel and its contents in celebration of the Abyss”. When you read these responsibilities or see them in action “Priestess” and “Librarian” are referring to the channeling of either masculine or feminine energy. And as we said earlier, we believe in the duality of both within us all. As such, the role of a Priestess may very well be performed by a Librarian who is channeling his own divine femininity. And vice versa. Try not to bring your own preconceptions into the Abyss and keep an open mind. It works out better for everyone. 4 -Prayer -Meditation -Yoga -Singing -Snacks -And an open and honest con- versation about how access to sacred sexual power (or the lack thereof) is affecting members of the circle, com- munity and society. -cats -more snacks -discussing the 7 Invitations and how they apply to those in attendance. 5 The Abyssian Union 6 We don’t have commandments in the Union. We aren’t commanding you to do a damn thing. We are inviting you to come on a sacred quest with us, one in which we have found beautiful power and awakening and which we trust that you can too. And the core of our Invitations to you are these sacred seven. 1. WE INVITE YOU TO REVEL IN THE ABYSS The Abyss can sound scary. In modern culture, it conjures images of a void. A great nothingness, a punishment for the unworthy. Webster’s Dictionary, definition number 2, “the bottomless gulf, pit, or chaos of the old cosmogonies” (here’s a hint; cosmogonies means having to do with the beginning of the world/ universe). That’s a lot. Probably the most famous Abyss quote is from Nietzsche “And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee”. Nothing could be more true, and nothing should make you feel more loved. For too long, those who seek to dull your flame and make docile your power have sought to distort your vision of the Abyss. They have told you it is a dark place of nothingness. They have told you it is an empty pit. A place where the worthless are banished. We tell you, this is not true. The Abyss, is everything. Everything that exists now, everything that will ever exist. It is a fathomless pit that is the wellspring from which everything you will ever experience is conjured. You are Abyss Dust, like a stardust that is the basis of everything. And when this experience of reality is done your essence will return to the Abyss and be scattered to countless other realities. In this you, like The Abyss, are eternal. The Abyss is life. There is no death. There is just change. Revel in your eternity. You are a vital part of an everlasting, all encompassing love. And you will never be alone, The Abyss will always welcome you home. You are worthy. You are loved. 7 The Abyssian Union 8 9 The Abyssian Union the tension gets too high. The more we try to repress it, the more viciously it returns to us in the most inconvenient and sometimes ugly ways. Eventu- ally, these societies/churches/ temples/etc. start making con- cessions after human nature starts rearing its head. Sexuality is powerful. Those who try to control or limit our sexuality attempt to take away a part of our power, autono- my, and humanity. But even You can lie about what you did yesterday, what you ate for din- ner, what you truly think about your friend’s favorite (shitty) band...but you can’t really lie to yourself about what turns you on - at least, not for long. Our sex drive is a power- ful force. Institutions and organized religions have tried to control and harness its power from essentially their formation. From anti-mas- turbation cornflakes to “pray the gay away” camps to mo- nogamy-only marriages for life, each movement that tries to convince us that sex is bad eventually implodes when 10 be curious about what it might have to teach us and how we can utilize it to reach our maximum potential as a society? Now, imagine a world where your sexuality was celebrated - where you weren’t shamed for how you chose to express intimacy, but instead praised for how you chose to exercise your sexual autonomy. You wouldn’t have to waste energy wor- rying about hiding your face on your kinky/gay/ polyamorous dating pro- file. You wouldn’t be fired from your job for making a sex tape with a consensual partner. You could walk away from a sexual encounter refreshed and relaxed from expressing something natural and bond- ing with another person, free from shame, guilt, and disgust that the old world would force upon you. Sex is power. We invite you to reclaim it. amidst millenia of attempted suppression, our need for sex, love, intimacy, and connection has proven to be bigger than any other force that has tried to suppress it. Our sexuality is the most honest part of who we are - it is a reflection of what is happening both inside and outside of us. Human beings need sex the way we need food, water, and sleep. Most of us would argue that sex is one of the best medicines we have for sleep, stress relief, self confi- dence and general well being. Instead of thinking of sex as either good or bad, why not 11 The Abyssian Union How good does it feel to give? How good does it feel to volunteer? Have you ever donated any- thing? Have you ever given to a charity? Now imagine giving back the feeling of being under- stood, the feeling of being accepted, and the feeling of being loved unconditionally. That’s what it means to cele- brate the sexuality of others. We don’t yuck anyone else’s yum. Even if it’s not for us in particular, we love the idea of giving someone else a space to make them feel whole, loved, and accept- ed. We will protect them against abuse. We will protect them against shame, and we will do everything we can to help them feel protected in their explora- tion of everything - dark, light, safe, risky, prude, slutty, all of it. This is their world and we will honor their journey as our own. We will celebrate the sexual light of all. 12 13 The Abyssian Union 14 15 The Abyssian Union We would argue that intense and skillful use of Power Exchange also may result in Domspace - overall an altered headspace. A shared extasis. Power Exchange allows us to explore an inner Wonderland - a space where we can play in the dark. Up is down and down is up. With consent, we can explore light and dark parts of our psyches and take down our boundaries that we may or may not have held onto for years. And we have someone who we trust to hold our hand throughout the According to the BDSM wiki, here it is: “Power exchange (also called Erotic power exchange, authority exchange and power dynamics) refers to a relationship of mutual consent in which one person gives their submission in exchange for another person giving their dominance. The exchange is the power that is always inherent in dominance & submissionwhere in which the s-type loses some degree of authority to the D-type in exchange for the D-type taking some degree of responsibility for the s-type. Intense and skillful use of power exchange may result in subpace” 16 Subspace and Domspace is magic. It’s an altered headspace. It allows you to take in information you normally couldn’t under normal circumstances. How do you want to use it? Do you want to make this person better than when you started this journey? Tell them. We invite you to regain that strength. journey. Submission is the highest form of service. If you are in a submissive position, you have embodied the strength to trust someone else to lead your heart, mind, and body into a world that is not “normal.” You have let someone hold the shining ball of light of your soul. What a fucking beautiful form of intimacy. If you are in a Dominant position, you have the complete trust of another human being in your hands - this is a person who will grow for you, who will suffer for you, who will live for you. They have given you one of the most magical fucking gifts known to us as human beings. A shining ball of light and unlimited power in your hands. How do you want to use it? 17 The Abyssian Union
