In this context, MSF is recruiting HEALTH PROMOTER IEC OFFICER O BJECTIVES OF THE P OSITION Implement Health Promotion/IEC (Information, Education, Communication) activities with patients and local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics. T ASK AND R ESPONSIBILITIES • Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides. • According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics • Implement activities of health education an d awareness (sessions in schools, in Health center, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor. • Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observatio ns), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her. • Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target. • Report to HP Supervisor : activities, problems met, strengths and constraints. • For OCBA: Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health services that can provide answers to social problems. • For OCBA: Keep education and communica tion areas clean and tidy and professional materials available. For OCBA: Participate in creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication. MSF S ECTION /C ONTEXT S PECIFIC A CCOUNTABILITIES Follow the gui dance of the HP supervisor and use the provided IEC material as directed. Use appropriate methods, such as role - play, games, videos, etc., as directed by the HP supervisor to conduct interactive and participatory health awareness sessions. Embrace changes that aim to improve work quality, such as updated data collection tools or working location, and use them accordingly. Report any rumours, misconceptions, and health - seeking behaviour of the population. Conduct follow - up sessions, referrals, LAMA, and cons ultations as required. Collect all types of data in accordance with the medical objectives. Advocate for patients ensuring their rights, preferences, and needs are respected and met. Always adhere to patient centred care, involving and respecting patient/ca retaker in decision making. Report all medical incidences, errors, adverse events to the NTS/Head Nurse and document accordingly. And any other duty deemed fit by his/her supervisor or line managers Providing advice and inform children’s families about eve rything concerning the hospitalization, participate in the health education of the mothers and/or treatment process.
