⚽ Wānaka FC Junior Football 2026 Season Dates : Term 2 | April 26th – July 5th, 2026 Registrations : wanakafootball.nz/register 📅 Game Day Format ● U5 – U8: Play in-house every Sunday morning at Kelly’s Flat (No travel required). ● U9 – U15: Play in the Central Otago league against Queenstown, Cromwell, and Alexandra. Weekly travel to a central location is required (approx. 5 games played in Wānaka). ● Girls Only: Wānaka FC aims to field Girls Only teams for U6–U12. If there are enough teams across the four Otago clubs, a Girls Only competition will be run. (Starts Mar 10; U6 starts Mar 17). ○ Mixed U12, U13, U15 : Wānaka Rec Centre (WRC)*, 4:00pm – 5:00pm. (Starts Mar 10). ● Wednesday Sessions: ○ Mixed U6–U9 : Kelly’s Flat, 3:45pm – 4:45pm. (Starts Mar 11; U6 starts Mar 18). ○ Mixed U10, U11 : Wānaka Rec Centre (WRC)*, 4:00pm – 5:00pm. (Starts Mar 11). 📍 Location Note: Mixed U10–U15 teams train at WRC in Term 1, then move to Pembroke Park from April 21st. 💰 Fees & Uniforms Registration Fees ● U6 & U7: $100 ● U8 & Above: $150 ● Fees must be paid at registration. No play without payment. ● Refunds available before April 20th (minus $10 admin fee). ● Refunds after April 20th will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Uniform Requirements ● Shirt & Shorts: Must be purchased from the club ($55 New / $35 Second-hand). Sales dates TBC. ● Socks: Players must wear black football socks. ● Safety: Shin guards and boots (moulded plastic studs only) are mandatory ● Optional: Club Hoodies are available to purchase from the club shop here 📢 Volunteers & Club Info We are on the lookout for volunteers to help guide our players in 2026. You don’t need to be a football expert to be a great coach. Whether you understand the offside rule or not, we will support you every step of the way with coach education, weekly session plans, and on-field guidance. Age groups train together, so you’ll never be doing it alone! Roles & Rewards We appreciate the time you give up for the kids. To say thank you, we offer the following rebates on your child's fees at the end of the season: ● Head Coaches (U8-U15 Age Group Leaders): 100% Rebate ● Team Coaches & U6/U7 Pod Leaders: 50% Rebate Please note: We ask coaches to commit to both weekday training and weekend games. Not a Coach? Be a Manager! If coaching isn't for you, we always need Team Managers to handle communication (like WhatsApp groups). It’s a great way to help out without being on the field. Get in touch with the club if you can help! ℹ Important Member Info ● BBQ Roster: When Wānaka hosts game days, every family with children playing at Kelly's Flat must volunteer for one 1-hour BBQ/Bake Sale slot per season. ● Game Cancellations: Notified by 7:30 am on Game Day via Email and Facebook. ● Academy: Extra development available via the Wānaka FC Academy (Pre-Academy for fundamentals; Academy by invitation). ❓ Questions?
