DROPBOX SUBMISSION LINK: https://www.dropbox.com/request/CH6M3YzqrKrcoUlhSY7a Acceptable video formats: .MOV, .MP4, .MPG, .MPEG See Page two below for what we want your family to do during the audition. GENERAL SELF TAPE INSTRUCTIONS Here’s a helpful YouTube tutorial on how to set up for a self-tape or virtual meeting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACNGhPKnmok&fbclid=IwAR0JJimTnzrl_ZLjiSfI_gFDN2YF5yFo8EufqYiaU H7Pu9rpmz24CIJygxk - Set up your recording device to shoot HORIZONTALLY (wide screen), not vertically. The camera should be stationary. Please don’t hold the camera in your own hand and take a selfie video. Get a friend or some kind of rig/tripod/etc. The camera should be right at your eye level or even a bit higher, you don’t want it lower and looking up at you. Straight on is preferable. - PICKING YOUR TAPE LOCATION: Make sure you are in a well-lit place where we can see your face. You do NOT want to be back lit. So, if there’s a window lighting you, you should be facing the window (not with your back to the window). Do not have any distracting backgrounds if possible. - If you have multiple video files, please combine them all into one file before sending. This is easy to do with free software that comes on most computers, like Quicktime or iMovie. Slate should go first. LASTLY – WATCH YOUR VIDEO! Make sure you can SEE yourself, HEAR yourself, and that you’re presenting the best audition possible. Then click the link above and send your video to us. You’ll get a confirmation on your screen when the file is fully uploaded to our Dropbox. WHAT WE WANT YOUR FAMILY TO DO FOR THE AUDITION VIDEO: For ALL these scenes EVERYONE should sitting closely together, in frame, at your kitchen table so we can see all of your faces. Please keep the framing as tight as possible, but still include everyone and give us your full faces… so we can clearly see your eyes. This is a 2-page direction sheet. 1 SLATING (Your introduction) For the slate, tell us your names individually. If you’re a kid under 16, please tell us your age as well. If you’re an actor, tell us that you are an actor. • KIDS: Tell us your name, your age, and if you’re an actor. Please also tell us if you are willing to work as a background actor. • ADULTS: Tell us your name and if you’re an actor. Please also tell us if you are willing to work as a background actor. SCENE 1 (“Don’t Give Me What I Want” Script) *We know this script is a lot. Just try your best and break it into pieces if needed. Parent and child should be seated at the table. The kid has a realkization and say… “Don’t give me what I want. I’m eight. I just ate an ant. My frontal lobe hasn’t formed. Anything I say I want today, I probably won’t like next week. So give me something meaningful. Sure, I might give you this look (eyerolling grimace). But in a few years when I’m not buried in college debt I will adore you unconditionally.” The parent is stunned by this revelation and isn’t sure how to respond. SCENE 2 (Giving a gift) The parent gives a stuffed animal to the kid. The kid gives a genuinely says. “A teddy bear! Just want I always wanted.” The parent and kid share a hug. The kid runs off to their room. SCENE 3 (Tell us a story) In no more than 1-2 minutes, please tell us about the strangest thing you have ever eaten. Where were you? What was it like? Why did you eat it? We would like to hear from everyone. And that’s it. Now upload the video to our dropbox link and we will take it from there. This is a 2-page direction sheet. 2
