Yonker‘ Free Pre‘‘ TUESDAY MARCH 3RD, 2020 - BRIAN HARROD PUBLISHER EDITOR The Yonkers Police Department assisted the Westchester County police who were pursuing a car on the Cross County Parkway that was wanted by the NYPD Four Arrested In Yonkers After A High-Speed Chase Of A Car Connected With A NYC Shooting By BRIAN HARROD A black Mercedes sought in a New York City shooting entered into Weschester jurisdiction and was on the Cross County Parkway by the county police. The county officer followed a male driver, with multiple passengers, west onto the Saw Mill River Parkway and watched as it got off at the Yonkers Avenue exit At that time the Westchester County police attempted to stopped the vehicle. After a chase involving a crash the vehicle was stopped across the high- way from the cross county shopping center and near the Marvis Discount Tire Store. Four individuals were arrested Monday afternoon after 1 pm. The chase ended near Mile Square Road, where multiple Yonkers police units assisted at the scene. A Westchester County police car was hit during the pursuit, but no of- ficers were injured. Two women and one man stayed in the car and were arrested, one per- son tried to evade police by jumping out and starting a foot pursuit before he was eventually arrested. Road side areas along the police chase route were canvased by officers for any potential evidence that may have been tossed out of the black Mercedes. The FBI were reportedly at the scene that was cleared a bit after 2 p.m. The car was tied to a past shoot- ing that the NYPD is said to be in- vestigating. Information on the New York City shooting was not provided. It is unclear at this time if the the four persons arrested were involved in the New York City shooting.
