NARRATIVE Between the dates of May 31, 2019 and November 21, 2020 Ames police officers took a high influx of similar reports involving burglary and/or trespassing within the same geographical area. All reporting parties were college - age females, and all reports occurred either in the 100 Block of Campus Avenue, the 100 Block of Hyland Avenue, or the 200 Block of Hyland Avenue. A resident at 246 Hyland Ave. reported that on four separate occasions, someone had come into her apartment and also her bedroom while she was sleeping. The victim advised that on October 3, 2020 the suspect kissed her on the lips which woke her from her sleep. The defendant, who also lived in close proximity, was ultimately identified as a suspect, and a search warrant was executed at his apartment. Search warrants were also completed for his cell phone and Google account. Cell phone videos were located of the defendant inside the rooms of multiple female victims who reported similar incidents. The victim did not know the defendant and he did not have permission to be in the victim's apartment or bedroom. The physical contact initiated by the defendant was unwanted by the victim.
