A short general compilation about development, training, duties, rights, and social and human aspects is followed by 617 careers, mostly gathered from sources of the archives of Vienna. This study for the first time presents a biographical reference work for consular practics in one of the five european powers of the era between 1825 and 1918. The Roman Republic of 1849 is one of the most exciting moment of the heroic season of the Italian Risorgimento, a short adventure in which the contemporaries recognized the opportunity to realize ideals of freedom, tolerance and democracy. This research aims to analyses the role played by religion in the political and social experiment that started in Rome after the pope’s escape, when it was necessary to redefine relations between civil and religious authorities, as well as the role of religion itself in society: a task not at all easy if applied to a State reality, where political and religious powers had been superimposed for centuries, but that will set an inescapable precedent for the subsequent attempts to build a secular State.

The Bologna Process, whose objective is the creation of an „European Higher Education Area“, should be concluded in 2010. In the last years the reactions ranged from total rejection over a more temporising attitude to clear and unambiguous affirmation. Hence, the „Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache“ (FaDaF – association for German as a foreign language) has accepted the challenge to enter on the level of science policy the discussion about the higher education structural reforms as far as the subject of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) is concerned. With the help of reports on the current situation and the future of the DaF degree programmes in various European countries, contributions regarding the crucial problems of the higher education structural reforms and a position paper about the curricular basis of the BA/MA degree programmes in the field of German as a foreign language, the basic parameters of the ongoing restructuring in this subject are discussed here.Der so genannte Bologna-Prozess, dessen Ziel die Schaffung einer „European Higher Education Area“, eines europäischen Hochschulraumes, ist, soll 2010 abgeschlossen sein. Reaktionen der absoluten Ablehnung, des Abwartens oder der klaren und eindeutigen Zustimmung prägten das Bild in den letzten Jahren. Der Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache (FaDaF) hat sich deshalb die Aufgabe gestellt, die Diskussion zur Studienstrukturreform im Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) aufzunehmen und wissenschaftspolitisch zu begleiten. Mit Länderberichten zur aktuellen Lage und Zukunft der DaF-Studiengänge Europas, Beiträgen zu den Kernproblemen der Studienstrukturreform sowie einem Grundsatzpapier zur curricularen Basis der BA/MA-Studiengänge im Fach DaF werden die Grundparameter beleuchtet, die für die fortschreitende Umstrukturierung im Fach bedeutsam sind.

This book draws attention to a part of Erik Werenskiold's (1855-1938) art production from the beginning of the 20th century, his prints made between 1908 and 1938. In our time these prints are not particularly well known despite of a relatively large number. The printed works are overshadowed by his more well known book illustrations and his paintings in a naturalistic manner from the last part of the 19th century. The naturalistic manner maintains in his prints but in these works the compositions are less complex compared to the previous. Several graphic works have features in commen with some of Paul Cézanne's paintings, an artist who greately inspired Werenskiold. As a whole Werenskiold's prints rimind us of some of the cultural aspects in the Norwegian society in the early 1900s. This book places Werenskiold's prints in a national and European context. The oeuvre catalog contains 247 works, 85 intaglios and 162 lithographies. Erik Werenskiold's prints have not previously been presented in their entirety.​
