This research based study uses academic sources, interviews, and footage to examine the origins of hip hop and reggae. It highlights Black American pioneers as foundational, includes interviews from Kool Herc crediting Black Americans, and addresses erasure and the misattribution of origins to Jamaican, Caribbean, and Latino figures. It also examines discrimination and cultural appropriation.
