Wetlands for the Treatment of Agricultural Drainage Water

Agricultural drainage, such as runoffs from farmlands and wineries, are contaminated waters. Their management is monitored by environmental protection authorities who set targets of volume or pollutant reductions. Due to large quantities and seasonal variations, the targets are often not met, and effective management remains a problem in many parts of the world.Natural wetlands are known as the ‘kidneys’ of the earth with unique water purification functions that have long been recognized. Imitating the functions of natural wetlands, constructed wetlands are engineered systems purposely built to treat contaminated waters. They may therefore be called the ‘artificial kidneys’ of the earth. Rural areas often only have low-value lands available for constructed wetlands. Where large quantities of drainage are produced, farmlands are often adjacent to degraded natural wetlands that have reduced ecosystem functions. Controlled discharge and treatment in the wetlands can potentially be part of an integrated solution to multiple environmental problems.This book includes some recent studies on the fate of pollutants removed from agricultural drainage in wetlands, modelling of wetland performance, innovative systems, and the use of non-hazardous agricultural waste in constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment. These studies enhance our understanding of wetland systems, and will help develop wetland technology towards solving the problems associated with agricultural drainage.

Alcune traduzioni dall'umorista ottocentesco Wilhelm Busch, la versione italiana di un testo chiave del Bauhaus e la trascrizione dal duello televisivo elettorale tra Angela Merkel e Helmut Schröder del 2005 documentano l'ampio spettro cronologico e variazionale dell'indagine.

Este libro es el resultado de investigación del proyecto “Educación Física y escuela: el deporte como contenido y su enseñanza” (2009-2013) 11/H573, como continuidad de estudios anteriores, que fueron realizados en instituciones deportivas. El producto presenta las características y particularidades del tratamiento y la enseña del deporte, en escuelas públicas y privadas de la región y zonas aledañas, en los niveles primario y secundario, en clases organizadas con alumnos agrupados por sexo o de forma mixta. Desde una perspectiva cualitatíva–interpretativa se trabajó en la recolección de información a través de observación y registro de clase, entrevistas a profesores, profesoras, estudiantes y expertas, análisis de planificaciones y de libros de temas como también de textos teóricos y técnico-metodológicos de uso corriente en la escuela y entre los profesores y profesoras. También se analizó el Diseño Curricular de Educación Física para los niveles primario y secundario. El tratamiento realizado con estos materiales, entre otros, se refleja de forma particular en los diferentes capítulos, mostrando tanto diversas posibilidades de entrecruzamiento de fuentes e información como de análisis e interpretación. Esos mismos capítulos muestran diferentes formas de describir y escribir. A la vez, este producto incluye en particular una discusión dada por el equipo en torno a los sentidos y significados que pueden asignársele y otorgársele al deporte, en un momento avanzado del desarrollo de la investigación, intentando reflejar y respetar las miradas y voces presentes en la información lograda. En ese sentido, se privilegia la discusión en torno a las particulares característica que toma el deporte en la escuela al ser enseñando, lo que supone cambios y asignaciones especiales al mismo que exceden las caracterizaciones tradicionales y clásicas existentes en el campo. Al cierre, se presentan algunas conclusiones generales que suman a las particulares realizadas en cada capítulo.

The increased detection of doping in professional sports has led to a strengthening of the discussion on the legal aspects of doping. So far criminal and/ or verbandsrechtliche questions were the focus. For example the question of whether and how sponsorship contracts may be terminated in cases of misconduct of the sponsored. First, it examines how appropriate cancellation clauses could be like. Second, consider the conditions under which, even without explicit rules for doping a termination in accordance with general principles of contract law is concerned. It also discusses the legal consequences of termination, and in particular its relationship to other contractual consequences of doping, such as claims for damages or penalties.Die zunehmende Aufdeckung von Dopingfällen im Spitzensport hat zu einer Verstärkung der Diskussion über juristische Aspekte des Dopings geführt. Bisher standen dabei strafrechtliche sowie vereins- bzw. verbandsrechtliche Fragen im Mittelpunkt. In dieser rechtsdogmatischen Abhandlung soll eine Problematik in den Vordergrund gestellt werden, deren praktische Relevanz die zahlreichen Berichte über Rückzüge von Sponsoren der Tour de France verdeutlichen: die Frage, ob und wie Sponsoringverträge in Fällen von Verfehlungen des Gesponserten beendet werden können. Zum einen wird untersucht, wie entsprechende Rücktrittsklauseln beschaffen sein sollten. Zum anderen wird geprüft, unter welchen Voraussetzungen auch ohne ausdrückliche Regelungen für Dopingfälle eine Vertragsbeendigung nach allgemeinen schuldrechtlichen Grundsätzen in Betracht kommt. Ebenso wird auf die Rechtsfolgen einer Vertragsbeendigung eingegangen, insbesondere auf ihr Verhältnis zu anderen vertragsrechtlichen Folgen des Dopings, etwa Schadensersatzansprüchen oder Vertragsstrafen.
