LIZZIE'S TOP WELLNESS TIPS COLD SHOWERS/BATHS "The cold makes us so present and it really sets me up for the day. I know it is hard at times, especially during the winter. But it always leaves me feeling more connected and SO energised for the day." HUMMING "Humming is actually a form of sound healing; it increases nitric oxide, lowers bloody pressure, helps oxygen delivery to cells and leaves you feeling more relaxed. I like to really feel the vibration around my nose and mouth. remember to breathe through your nose." ELIZABETH BRODERICK of Anicca Sound is a certified sound meditation teacher with yoga alliance, creating soundscapes for altered states. Her passion lies in our magical ability to heal through vibration and she believes that sound takes us on a journey back to our inner wisdom--a place of stillness for balanced living. Lizzie works with gongs, crystal bowls and a variety of other instruments to create a multi dimensional cosmic sound journey. " Putting on some music and just shaking your body for 5 minutes, getting rid of any tension and just releasing. I find it helps me release any anger or negative emotions." MEDITATE " Anapana meditation, focusing on my breath every morning helps me stay present, calm and grounded. I sometimes add in a kundalini meditation too." ALISTAIR'S TOP WELLNESS TIPS: GET YOURSELF AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER An accountability partner is typically someone who shares a goal that you want to achieve. You’ll build a reciprocal relationship where you team up together to pursue that goal and keep one another on track. "Find someone to buddy up with and keep each other motivated." ALISTAIR MARSHALL is a Leadership and Executive Coach with 15-years experience working within the premium and luxury retail space. Through 1-2-1 coaching, workshops and large scale programs he works with both established and emerging leaders to support their transformation and growth. IG: @alistair_marshall DISCONNECT AND TAKE GREEN BREAKS Whether it's a break from devices or simply a break from a pattern of overthinking, try and mindfully disconnect a few times a day. Walking in natural environments such as coastal paths, trails, parks and other green spaces has been shown to not only boost physical health but can also enhance psychological health. Known as green exercise, research shows that walking in a natural environment promotes mental well-being, can reduce stress, can boost immunity and can increase our ability to concentrate and think with greater clarity. PRACTICAL TIP: A great way to reduce consumption if you're feeling overwhelmed and overloaded, is to unsubscribe from unessential mailing lists. Fewer emails = less information and marketing = lower stress. HYDRATE If your body’s water balance is off, then you may get tired and sluggish. The benefits of keeping hydrated range from having more energy, to aiding digestion, cushioning joints, flushing out bacteria and normalising blood pressure. "Drinking 6 - 8 glasses of water a day generally makes me feel more healthy and alert." EMMA'S TOP WELLNESS TIPS: PAUSE "Feel your feet on the ground, soak in stillness for a moment. What’s it like for you?" Being still for a moment can anchor us to the present, improve our listening skills, increase our creativity and our ability to hear our own inner wisdom. EMMA CULLY will help you unlock the wisdom of your nervous system by strengthening your capacity to connect to the present. Emma is a somatic practitioner and therapeutic Yoga teacher; she uses the Polyvagal theory nervous system framework, together with interoception (the felt sense), to explore the sensation of experience and work towards emotional regulation. IG: @keep_it_conscious_ BREATHE " Overwhelming thoughts - take a big breath in and exhale with a loud sound. Do this until you feel more grounded." By repeatedly stimulating the vagus nerve during those long exhalations, slow breathing may shift the nervous system towards that more restful state, resulting in positive changes like a lower heart rate and lower blood pressure. STEP AWAY FROM YOUR SCREEN "Look out a window, let your eyes settle on plants, trees, the sky or any natural scene. Be curious about how it lands in your system." LISTEN TO YOUR BODY "We have so much information and influence over what we ‘should’ ‘could’ or ‘must’ be doing from social media, family, friends that we forget to honour our own intelligence. You know when you need to rest, not the influencers you follow." FUEL YOURSELF WELL WITH EVERYTHING YOU FEED YOURSELF "Think about what you eat, what you see, what you read, where you go, who you listen to, who you are close to and who you speak to. Your body absorbs it all." JASMINE ST.CLIERE currently teaches yoga and facilitates sound baths with Bamford, and for her private and corporate clients around London. Jasmine combines her interests in human anatomy with her passion for somatic and energy work, integrating these philosophies to provide a practice that leaves you feeling truly embodied. IG: @findingbalancewithjasmine JASMINE'S TOP WELLNESS TIPS: FOCUS ON BREATH Take intervals throughout the day to focus on the way you are breathing. Our breath controls our emotions however a lot of the time it is a subconscious action. If we bring it to the front of our awareness we tune back in with our body’s energy levels and how we really feel in the moment.
