Continued 5. Read your email out loud before you send it: This will help you catch awkward phrases, words that don’t belong, or non-helpful sentences. 6. Use bullet points: The influencer is likely skimming the email, and if your bullet points are interesting they will go back and read the other things that you wrote. 7. Use the 60 second and 1 thumb rules: Your email should take less than 60 seconds to read out loud and should fit within “one thumb scroll” on a mobile device. 8. The email should be written in terms of THEM and demonstrate their value: Speak in terms of their interests and include one of the following: a) Seek their thoughts & opinions c) Validate them or their work b) Speak in terms of their priorities d) Empower them with choice 9. Count the number of times you used the word “I...” and eliminate as many as possible: Remember, you want the email to be about them, not you. 10. Purchase a subscription to Gmelius or Docsify : These allow you to schedule emails in advance or even see if the influencer opened them, helping you to properly time follow-ups. 11. Never, ever end an email without a clear next step: Don’t end with “Let me know if there is anything I can do to help”. Remember, you need to get them to a “yes” or “no” answer. 12. Spend time on emails: It’s hard to write concisely and follow all these rules. Just remember that more time spent here will lead to disproportionate results later. 13.
