Our mission in 2021 (beyond delivering the most enviable line-up of professional salon brands) is to continue to bring our industry together knowing that as one we are stronger, further building on our ethos of ‘collaboration, not competition’. The challenges of last year in many ways has been a blessing, forcing us like many of you to re- strategise, looking more internally for inspiration rather than relying on artists from outside of SA. To book internal / in salon workshops by request, speak with your HBC account manager. In salon education is to be booked and paid for in full a minimum of 14 days prior to each event. 3. Should you need to cancel your booking for any reason 14 days or less prior to the seminar date, the booking will be non-refundable. 4. Cancellations or ‘no shows’ on the day of any workshop or event will incur loss of 100% of cost. Nicole has worked in the industry as a professional hairdresser for over 20 years and additionally as a makeup artist for the past 11 of those years. Nicole’s won many awards throughout her journey in the industry including the title of ‘South Australian Hairdresser of the Year’. She was a member of the Australian F.A.M.E team educating on the world stage in London. During that time, her passion for education grew, leading her to into roles with some of the industry’s biggest brands, working throughout Australia, New Zealand & Asia in addition to gigs at New York fashion weeks. After an extended period out of SA, Nicole again calls Adelaide home, joining the HBC team last year in 2020. NICOLE ABELA Education Manager/ Hair & Beauty Co Educator Abi’s heritage is education. Hailing from the UK and gaining her own education under some of the world’s best at Toni & Guy, she has thrived for over 15 years on the salon floors of Europe and Australia. She’s a true creative, contributing to countless art / fashion shows & photo / video shoots throughout Europe, the US & Australia. Bringing an exceptional enthusiasm and unique flair to her industry and client interactions, Abi is a stand-out talent either servicing her many salon accounts or delivering education for the HBC portfolio of brands. ABI WALES Hair & Beauty Co Educator Robert Bava is an Australian hairdressing industry leader, loved by his hairdressing peers, his passion is to give back to the industry through education to empower the next generation of hairdressers. Robert has directed hair for various designers at Australian fashion week, in addition to styling celebrity hair over the years for the likes of Kim & Khloe Kardashian, Hillary Clinton and many more. Renowned for his beautiful photographic images, Rob has been named SA Hairdresser of the year (twice) and Hair Expo Australian hairdresser of the year finalist countless times. The pinnacle saw Robert take out the title of 2008 AHFA “Australian Hairdresser of the year” and again in 2009. ROBERT BAVA Guest Artist National Creative Director of the Parlour group Nathan Forbes will spearhead DunGüd Education 2021, a finalist for South Australian Hairdresser of the year three times & 2004 NZARH New Zealand Hairdresser of the year winner, Nathan has educated internationally for several of our industries biggest brands. When not passing his knowledge and passion on to the next generation of Hairdressers, Nathan also occupies a role as the current S.A Fashion Director for Intercoiffure Australia (working nationally with the Australian creative team). NATHAN FORBES Guest Artist Owner/Director of PARLOUR GLENELG What sets Paul Dare apart from others is his unmistakable passion for the industry and his incredible focus on training the next generation. Having been in the industry for over 40 years and owned Dare Hair for 30 years, Paul dedicates all of his training to understanding the principles of cutting hair. Paul has won multiple awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Hair Legend Award. Paul won’t teach you how to do hair cuts, he will teach you how to cut hair. He has a sense of sincerity and care for a person that is difficult to find in this cutthroat industry and will leave you feeling enriched and inspired after one of his workshops. PAUL DARE Guest Artist Owner - Dare Hair KRISTY HODGSON Guest Artist Owner - Jarrahs Three times SA Hairdresser of the year (2x AHFA 1x Hair Expo) and Co-Owner of Jarahs Hair in the heart of SA’s Riverland. Education has been always been at the centre of Kristy’s career & for the past 8 years, Kristy has travelled nationally and internationally sharing her cutting and finishing skills, something she’s very passionate about. When not passing on her knowledge to the next generation of hairdressers you’ll find Kristy leading her team and caring for her loyal clientele, something she still thrives off each and every day! Owner of Pipsqueek in Saigon, Bel has been in the industry for over 20 years and has been a salon owner for 15 . Looking at her passion as a true art form, Bel pushes boundaries in all aspects of hairdressing and business, she describes herself to be an all rounder. Bel has worked besides some of our industry greats at Fashion weeks in Australia and beyond, has had her work published and shared worldwide. Constantly hungry to create, Bel is forever finding different ways to paint and mold hair. Known for her colour work and effortless styling, but also for her incredible team that surround her. Her salon culture is always at the forefront. BELINDA MILLS Guest Artist Owner of Pipsqueek, Saigon In her 8 short years of industry experience, Kirsty has forged her way from apprentice through to salon ownership through a combination of fearlessness, intuitive skill and creativity. Known for consistently pushing the boundaries and "breaking the rules" when it comes to hair, she is also known as the girl with the 'Gram in her home town of Adelaide; an intuitive understanding of social media makes this phenomenal hairdresser a double threat. Opening her salon James by Kirsty Anne Hair in May of 2019, she is known for her lived-in blondes and the fun atmosphere she encourages that keeps the clients lining up at her salon door. KIRSTY ANNE SAGE Guest Artist Owner of James by Kirsty Anne Hair Ben’s a hairdressing career has spanned across 21 years. Ben & husband duo Martin own MABE hair and MB Groomed in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs. Prior to embarking on his career in hair Ben studied fashion design, leading to his great love of aesthetics and an eye for total looks in fashion and hair. Ben has worked extensively on editorial shoots and has directed shows at New York fashion week. BEN GULLY Guest Artist Owner of MABE Hair & MB Groomed Martin picked up a tint brush and scissors in the summer of 1997 and hasn’t looked back since. Excelling as leading colourist in Adelaide, Martin has won numerous awards on a both a state and national levels & most recently was a finalist for 2020 AHFA South Australian hairdresser OTY. Martin has worked on fashion weeks both domestically and internationally. He lives and breathes hair and the amazing industry we all work within. Together with his Husband Ben they have created the destination salon MABE hair which is about to have its 10th birthday in addition to barbering hot spot MB Groomed.
