It is a delight to see the joy of children who roam the streets wearing traditional clothing, and carrying bags sewn specifically for the occasion to collect candy and nuts from the neighbors’ houses they visit on that day. This practice has been handed down through many generations, and is still a pleasant tradition in UAE. The night of Mid Shaa’ban is a holiday observed by various Muslim communities. It is regarded as a night when the fortunes of men for the coming year are decided and when sinners are forgiven. In the UAE, “Hag al Leila” is an occasion which reflects the people's overwhelming joy of the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan and their moral preparations for receiving it. It is also an occasion for the people at a certain area to come closer and deepen their ties through love, fraternity and truthful relations.
