Its success and sense of community captured the attention of industry experts, and in 1997, Alec was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Leisure and Entertain ment magazine. Two years later Alec was elected as the treasurer of the community board. In 2001 , Alec ran for New York City Council, but did not win. He volunteers for State active duty in support of Operation COVID - 19 since March 2020, he helped converted Jacob Javits Convention Center into a field hospital, and Javits Center transition to a vaccination center serving over 500,00 patients. Lester is a native New Yorker and currently reside s in Brooklyn. He is an executive committee member with his local Chinatown American Legion Post 1291.
