Our response provides details of the number of deaths (from all causes) for patients who have been i) vaccinated; ii) not vaccinated. This information does not show the number of vaccinated patients who died of COVID - 19. The majority of patient deaths at our hospital (even during 2020) were from causes other than COVID - 19. With increasing numbers of patients vaccinated over the last nine months, we would now expect to see a higher number of deaths (from non - COVID causes) in patients who have been vaccinated as they make up the greater percentage of the population. As of 8 August 2021 a total of 427,816 people in Somerset have had at least one COVID - 19 vaccine dose – which is over 90 per cent of the population Reuse of Information The information supplied to you continues to be protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
