This does not imply that a person's nationality and other more local identities are renounced or waived, but rather that they are given a second spot to their membership in a global society. In light of the above assertion, there is a need to create a global means of identification unique to each human. Digital native assortments is a blockchain-based project that aims to establish a self-sovereign global digital identification system where each individual owns their identification data. This document provides an overview of the DNA project and its implementation on a blockchain network. Introduction Every part of our life has been altered by technological advancements in the digital arena, from shopping to working with co-workers, connecting with friends, pleasure, and finance management [2] Identity management has always been a major topic of discussion since the inception of the Internet, with billions of dollars spent on usability, privacy, and security. In 2020, the worldwide identity and access management market was estimated to be worth USD 12.26 billion. In 2021-2028, the market is expected to increase at a CAGR of 14.5%, from USD13.41 billion in 2021 to USD34.52 billion in 2028. Digital identification is crucial to most social and commercial transactions in today's data-driven society. This determines how users engage in the digital world. Despite this significant investment, the three Cs – costly, cumbersome, and challenging – continue to plague digital identity management. Furthermore, traditional identity systems remain extremely vulnerable, with single points of failure that attract ongoing attempts to have access to the whole pool of high-value data. Thus, users' experience is dramatically harmed as organizations prioritize cybersecurity, identity protection, and compliance management. Individuals are responsible for managing various internet IDs and passwords and a variety of documents such as passports, Social Security cards, driver's licenses, and medical insurance cards. By using personal ledgers we securely store medical records and maintain a single version of the truth. Different organizations can request permission to access a patient’s record to serve their purpose and record transactions on the distributed ledger in collaboration with XinFin Network. Processing accelerated by the use of FPGA boards purpose built for blockchain. Problems with the traditional identification system The term "Global Citizen" is a derivative of Globalization [1], a term that describes the process of easily moving people, politics, economy, and things across borders. Thus, seeing the whole world as a single nation. With almost 8 billion human population on the planet, independent government and organization-issued means of identification are no longer efficient beyond their jurisdictions. The current system of identification is centralized and puts all the responsibility of capturing, sorting, storing, and securing identification on a single entity, along with the power to do use the data however they see fit. The problem with this identification system is that it is fragmented, highly censored, and can easily be manipulated. Censoring is another problem of current means of identification; while governments and organizations persuade people to enroll for identification documents, they do not have any power over what their data is being used for. Since these government-issued identification documents are required for verification in most official and formal activities, governments and issuer organizations are aware and can restrict such activities. Also, manipulation or faking identification is another problem of the current system; this is evidenced in the 10 – 12% of fake identity documents since 2019 [3] Building Digital Identity on the Blockchain Blockchain has evolved considerably from its inception as a distributed ledger system for tracking cryptocurrency ownership. This technology can potentially replace existing identity management systems with a highly trustworthy mechanism. Users will be able to have more control over their own identities. Organizations can only utilize the data with users' permission, and no central entity can jeopardize a customer's identity. Self-sovereign identification has been made possible via blockchain. Self-sovereign identification is intrinsically unalterable and more secure than existing identity systems. This can dramatically transform how we connect to various internet services using our identities. Individuals would prove their identity using their self-sovereign ID, eliminating the need for passwords. Before the DNA project, there had been an extended period of realizing a self-sovereign global identity system, as with any life-changing breakthrough. It's a concept based on the idea that an individual should control how his identity is managed. The ID cannot be tied to a single entity, and it must be interoperable across different platforms with user authorization. The DNA Project The DNA project aims to establish a decentralized self-sovereign global identity system on a blockchain. The mission is to have higher officials, such as state or local government bodies, issue a global digital identification. Each country will have its private ledger with its access. From personal id, passport, birth certificate, healthcare record, insurance card, etc. Or any legal document used to identify who we are as a person or as an organization. The identity is issued as an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) holding the identity information of the owner in the form of metadata. Organizations could use the NFT as legal documentation, financial report, and vendor relationship. The DNA project Features ● Unique identity – blockchain technology ensures that each existing NFT is unique and non-exchangeable. ● Decentralized - Independent of a particular architectures or platforms ● long shelf life – lifetime identity with no expiration ● Interoperability – widely available for various utility and applications ● Permissioned and customized accessibility – accessibility is only granted by permission and can be revoked anytime. The assignee can also control the private information and the ones that should be accessed. ● Secured: based on blockchain cryptographic encryption, there is immutability and authentication of identity, which means an individual or organization cannot change the original identification information or create a fake one. How does the DNA project Work? An assignor is the government who generates the NFT Identification document for the assignee. Updating the data on the identity NFT can be government official, certified professional (i.e., doctor, physician, license nurse, etc.) with the assignee's consent. An assignee is an individual or organization that owns the identity. Issuance Individual Assignors can create a government wallet and modify a document ID of an assignee. Each private ledger is isolated for a different use case (Medical records, finance, leisure, tax, insurance, and legal). This individual issuance is a standard for an individual, yet it is not exclusive. corporation Each organization has its private ledger, and the assignor can generate a government wallet and update changes on a corporation documented ID (assignee ledger). A variety of use cases, including but not limited to financials. tax, insurance, legal, vendors. Peer to Peer (P2P) An individual/corporation (including but not limited to the healthcare provider, lawyer, government official, etc.) can request to review another person's/corporation's identification document(s) with the owner's consent. For instance: scanning a person or person's/corporation's QR code with a device to access the data on the identification document. Or granting authorization for another person/corporation to see or edit a document. Any request to see or update the data of assignees will be encrypted on a blockchain. While one's identification document is being accessed, there may be a need to revoke access, and the GIN platform has a feature to implement this restriction. An assignee can use the Authorized Trust Lines feature [4] to accessibility to only accounts that the assignee has authorized. This prevents unwelcome organizations and people from accessing the identification data. Structure The origin of the GIN is the government, either at the federal, state, or local level. The government generates GIN identity for the assignee (each person and individual organization). The NFT identification document that serves as unique identifier is then sent to the private assignee wallet and the private key, contract address, and other metadata. From here onward, assignees have full control over their identity as no one except them can modify the metadata (identification information) associated with their unique NFT identification document. To give other people or corporations access to modify their data, they need to use the authorized trust lines feature by granting read/write or both permissions only for the specified account. The GIN native token The GIN project has its utility token to run the smart contracts that mint the NFT identification document and add/update the data. Benefits of the GIN project ● GIN eradicates identity issues such as data Inaccessibility, Data insecurity, Fraudulent identities, and double identities. ● GIN eradicates tax fraud and tax evasion for personal and corporations ● GIN reduces the costs and resources required to create and maintain a global identification system ● GIN allows individual identity to be used internationally ● Through the GIN interoperability, the assignee can enrich their life by accumulating their data from different sources in one place. ● GIN facilitates quick presentation and verification of personal identity anywhere in the world Disclaimer The information in this document is provided solely for information purposes.
