DESTINO MÍO Yucatán, México Mérida, the state capital of the Yucatán, is the second safest city in all of North America (behind Quebec City). Destino Mió is an oasis, hidden in the heart of the Yucatán biosphere, 90 minutes from Mérida Airport. Luxury in the jungle, Destino Mío consists of a main house, a village with 8 glamping tents nestled in the surrounding nature and 6 majestic private suites. El Ojo (The Eye), a towering lookout woven from bamboo, the private cenotes and the lush vegetation make this a unique place to nourish your soul. We have only been able to secure a limited number of spaces at Destino Mío. Act now to avoid disappointment. Peter & Tara - Organizers & OG Black Sheep(s) After realizing that they both felt like Black Sheep at times and that often made it hard to establish genuine connections with like minded individuals (fellow Black Sheep that is) Peter & Tara realized a supportive, encouraging community was needed and thus the Black Sheep Collective was born. The Black Sheep Collective exists to support Black Sheep in their journey from feeling isolated, alienated and unsure to being confident, courageous & unapologetically proud Black Sheep. As global entrepreneurs, raising seven children while living an authentic Black Sheep life in México, Peter & Tara bring their decades of hard earned lessons to provide encouragement and structure to this rapidly growing community. Cristina Peréz - Maestra de Yoga Meet Cris. A native of Venezuela, Cris now calls the Yucatán her home. It was through attending her world renowned yoga retreats that Peter & Tara discovered Destino Mío. Cris is dedicated to living a yogic life and facilitating the encounters that happen on the journey of self growth. Cris has been a practitioner of yoga, meditation and pranayama for over 15 years. For the last 6 years Cris has also been studying Ayurveda. A creative artist, cook and dedicated to serving others, Cris has studied under such esteemed figures in various yoga traditions such as Sri. Dharma Mittra, Gokulacandra, Zarah Kravitz, David Kyle, Ana Muriel and Natalia Chaparro. Cris has her 400 hour RYS Yoga Alliance teacher certification and we are proud to have her as a co-facilitator of this experience Itinerary Arrive at Destino Mio on Wednesday 6th November anytime after 12:00p A t ic da at t e re t 6:00 am Wat Sun /Med i n 7:00 am Y og wi Cri 9:00 am Bre s 10:00 am The / Dis r / Con t Noon Fre Tim / Ex or 2:00 pm Lun 3:00 pm Cen / Ac i t 5:00 pm Res / Po l / Fre Tim 6:00 pm Eve g Yog Nid 8:00 pm Din Depart Destino Mio on Sunday at 12:00 No n on the 10th November 2024 Your investment in yourself includes: All the retreat sessions, lessons, yoga, etc. Access to the private cenotes and pool Accommodations for 4 nights & 5 days All your meals (omni, vegan or vegetarian) Not Included: Alcohol T ransport to and from Mérida Airport. This is not a yoga retreat, rather it is a retreat where we have some optional yoga and some optional meditation. As such, all levels are welcome as long as you show up with an open mind. I have a special diet, can you accommodate me? Yes, the menu is typical for a retreat venue (vegetarian) but we can take care of most needs (with meat, gluten free, lactose free, vegan etc). The food is small batch, artisanal style meals with an emphasis on locally grown and “fresh from the garden” ingredients. How long does it take to go from Mérida airport to Destino Mío? About 90 minutes (79 km). The road is rustic and not rushing is part of the experience. We can connect you to a reliable service to handle your airport transfer. Can I fly into Cancun (instead of Mérida)? You can although you would need to budget another 5 hours of travel. Unless you are doing additional touring we recommend flying into Mérida International Airport. What is the climate like in November? In early November the weather is humid with temperatures ranging from 22 - 30 degrees celsius (72 to 86F). It is the end of the rainy season although some showers or thunderstorms may still occur. What clothes should I bring? Comfortable, casual and light clothing. A sweater for the evenings/mornings and perhaps a raincoat just in case. Some light workout wear, your swimming attire (for the pool and cenotes) and shoes for walking. Sandals, insect repellent and sunscreen (if you use it). Add a hat & sunglasses as well, it is México after all! Is there wifi at Destino Mío There is wifi at the main reception including cellular service, however wifi is spotty in the rest of the resort. What time is check out and check in at Destino Mio? Formal check in on Wednesday 6th is at 3:00pm and checkout on Sunday 10th is at 12:00 Noon.
