Page 9 Royal Family By Moffat Ratemo , Chair RHAC During my early years in campus, I really loved watching stories about the United Kingdom. I would watch the queen speak, I would read stories about the senior royal s , and it was all fascinating. I had a yearning to be in the royal family. Funny enough, there is a time me and my friends used to call each other royal titles. The one that sticked to me was the Duke of Ebulako. “Dreams are valid,” said Lupita Nyongo. Mine was valid too. I think this might have gone a step further to influence the formation of Roya l Heirs Ministry and I happened to be one of the pioneers and the first chairperson. Apparently, my dream of joining the royal family had come true. Later, I came to understand that if we believe in Jesus, we are part of an endless royal kingdom. Do you Kno w that you are part of the royal family too? Do you know you can be king or queen for eternity? “ I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn't worship the beast nor his image and didn't receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ one thousand years. ” Revelation 20:4 “ But you are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a pe ople for God's own possession, that you may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light ” 1 Peter 2:9 “ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs; heir s of God, and joint - heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. ” Romans 8:17 We are a ROYAL FAMILY ... 2 | P a g e h e Royal Dinner is just special Life should not be too serious. It is also evident that work is done better when we are refreshed because our bodies need rest after work. There should be time to get together, to know each other and build meaningful relationships . Time to celebrate achievements and learn from our past mistakes. Moments to share wonderful meals and memories. “Let several families living in a city or village unite and leave the occupations which have taxed them physically and mentally, and make an excursion into the country, to the side of a fine lake, or to a nice grove where the scenery of nature is beautiful. They should provide themselves with plain, hygienic food, the very best fruits, and grains, and spread their table under the shade of some tree or un der the canopy of heaven. The ride, the exercise, and the scenery will quicken the appetite, and they can enjoy a repast which kings might envy.” AH 501.3 T “ There should be time to get together, to know each other and build meaningful relationships. ” 1 | P a g e LONG DESIRE MY TESTIMONY By Emmanuel Sambrumo, Chair RH Ministry t was long since I had listened to melodious and tuneful songs by several singing groups, in camp meetings, crusades and many other evangelistic campaigns, not forgetting online platforms. I really admired and aspired to join one of the singing groups at my advanced level of my studies - the university. Here came a chance, presented itself to t he fullest, when I joined Maseno university. Once again, I saw more singing groups, however, none met the threshold of my desires. I ha ve been ever look ing forward to tak ing part in audio recording and visualizing of several albums with one of the singing groups. However, none was preparing for the same. There came one of the long - awaited opportunities for me; two more ministries were introduced; The Pilgrims and The Royal Heirs, after Sweet Spirit and Philadelphia which existed before. I made my mind to be a member of the Royal Heirs Ministry. Not only did I have a desire to sing but also had a sense and an urge for spiritual shape - up to be well - equi pped as a workman of God and prepare to lead my own family as the head. To date, most of the desires are being achieved T hough not all, am still anticipating the day when the Royal Heirs family will stabilise financially, and record audios accompanied by visualization. Being part of the family is as great as partaking of the heavenly royalty. Am humbl ed. “Not only did I have a desire to sing but also had a sense and an urge for spiritual shape - up to be well - equipped as a workman of God and prepare to lead my own family as the head” pg. 0 Bible Readings rom infancy, you have kn own the sacred writings which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. Every scripture inspired by God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction, which is in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely to every good work. { 2 Timothy 3:15 - 17 } The Bible was not written for the scholar alone; on the contrary, it was designed for the common people. The great truths necessary for salvation are made as clear as noonday; and none will mistake and lose their way except those who follow their own judgment instead of the plainly revealed will of God. { Steps to Christ page 89 } They two testaments are the witnesses of God. “ I will give power to my two witnesses, and t hey will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth. ” { Revelation 11:3 - 4 } But there is but little benefit derived from a hasty reading of t he Scriptures. One may read the whole Bible through and yet fail to see its beauty or comprehend its deep and hidden meaning. One passage studied until its significance is clear to the mind and its relation to the plan of salvation is evident, is of more v alue than the perusal of many chapters with no definite purpose in view and no positive instruction gained. Keep your Bible with you. As you have opportunity, read it; fix the texts in your memory. Even while you are walking the streets you may read a pass age and meditate upon it, thus fixing it in the mind. { Steps to Christ page 90 } Singing and prayer and Bible readings are needed in the homes of the people. “It is written” is to be their weapon of defence { Christian Service Page 114 } “It is written” was the only weapon that Christ used when the tempter came with his deceptions. { Chi ld Guidance page 510 } F “These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.” Revelation 11:4 1 | P a g e 5 Golden Rules to Forgive ness By Kelvin Gekonge , PM Leader MUSDA Repentance Then Peter said to them: " Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:28 It is not the fear of punishment or the hope of reward that should lead us to repent. What should lead us to repent is a keen understanding of the perfect beauty of Jesus what sin did and does to Him. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 - 11 Confession Repentance is to be sorry for sin. Confession means to openly say you are. I acknowledged my sin to You and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:5 If we conf ess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1: 9 He who covers his sins will not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28:13 Believe “And what is it to believe? It is to fully accept that Jesus Christ died as our sacrifice; that He became the curse for us, took our sins upon Himself, and imputed unto us His own righteousness. Therefore, we claim this righteousness of Christ, we believe it, and it is our r ighteousness.” Faith and Works pg 70 John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting. Genuine Faith What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can such a faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus, also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show y ou my faith by my works. James 2:14 - 18 Baptism For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:26, 27 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Je sus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united in the liken ess of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6:3 - 5 1 | P a g e 2 | P a g e Hospitality is the G reatest T eacher Ministry T hrough F ood By Faith Kerubo , Associate Chair RHAC A naysayer once said , ‘I f you want to mediate two conflicting parties, lay out food on the table for that’s the only time when people ga ther and indulge in what has been laid. By proxy, two conflicting individuals wouldn’t set tle scores than when invited to the meal by a mediator ” This principle was greatly employed by the great master Jesus in Matthew 14:16 But Jesus said unto them , “ T hey need not to depart , give ye them to eat.” Christ has given in his own life a lesson of hospitality. When surrounded by the hungry multitude beside the sea, he did not send them unrefreshed to their homes. He said to his disciples, “ G ive ye them to eat.” And by an act of cre ative power, he supplied food sufficient to satisfy their need. Yet how simple was the food provided! There were no luxuries . He who had the resource of heaven at his command could have spread for the people a rich repast. But he provided that which would suffice for their need, that which was the daily food of the fisher folk about the sea. DA 366.1 In the modern world today, we are fundamentally grappling with a people who possess self - interest. However, the spirit calls us we that live in the light, to surrender our selfish nature and be willing to serve others. For much grace should be given where it is least merited. Give & Touch a Heart “ The spirit calls us we that live in the light, to surrender our selfish nature and be willing to serve others .” 1 | P a g e C areer Section ear youth, what is the aim and purpose of your life? Are you ambitious for education that you may have a name and position in the wo rld? Have you thoughts that you dare not express, that you may one day stand upon the summit of intellectual greatness; that you may sit in deliberative and legislative councils and help to enact laws for the nation? There is nothing wrong in these aspirat ions. You may every one of you make your mark. You should be content with no mean attainments. Aim high and spare no pains to reach the standard. 1MCP 367 Happiness and Success Many students are in so great haste to complete their education that they are n ot thorough in anything which they undertake. Few have sufficient courage and self - control to act from principle. Most students fail to understand the true object of education, and hence fail to take such a course as to secure this object. They apply them selves to the study of mathematics or the languages, while they neglect a study far more essential to the happiness and success of life. Many who can explore the depths of the earth with the geologist or traverse the heavens with the astronomer show not th e slightest interest in the wonderful mechanism of their own bodies. Others can tell just how many bones there are in the human frame and correctly describe every organ of the body, and yet they are as ignorant of the laws of health and the cure of disease as though life were controlled by blind fate instead of definite and unvarying law. 1MCP 362 Ye are Complete Learning is good. The wisdom of Solomon is desirable; but the wisdom of a greater than Solomon is far more desirable and essential. Through the learning in our schools we cannot reach Christ, but we can through Christ reach the highest end of the ladder in science; for the word of inspiration says, “Ye are complete in Him” (Colossians 2:10). Our first business is to see and acknowledge God, and then He will direct our path. 1MCP 358 The Best Course All are not called upon to enter the ministry, but neverth eless, they are to minister. It is an insult to the Holy Spirit of God for any man to choose a life of self - serving. 1MCP 344 “The great day of the Lord is near...” and a world is to be warned.... Thousands of the youth ... should be giving th emselves to this work.... Let every Christian educator ... encourage and assist the youth under his care in gaining a preparation to join the ranks. There is no line of work in which it is possible for the youth to receive greater benefit.... They are co - w orkers with the angels; rather, they are the human agencies through whom the angels accomplish their mission. Angels speak through their voices, and work by their hands. And the human workers, cooperating with heavenly agencies, have the benefit of their e ducation and experience. As a means of education, what “university course” can equal this? 1MCP 368 - 369 pg. 0 l ife style Preserve Health Too little attention is generally given to the preservation of health. It is far better to prevent disease than to know how to treat it when contracted. It is the duty of every person, for his own sake, and for the sake of humanity, to inform himself regarding the laws of life and conscientiously to obey them. All need to become acquainted with that most wonderful of all organi sms, the human body. They should understand the functions of the various organs and the dependence of one upon another for the healthy action of all. They should study the influence of the mind upon the body, and of the body upon the mind, and the laws by which they are governed. MH 128.1 What course shall I take best to preserve my health? ...Cease to transgress the laws of your being; cease to gratify a depraved appetite, eat simple food, dress healthfully, which will require modest simplicity, work healthfully, and you will not be sick.... Many are suffering in consequence of the transgression of their parents. They cannot be censured for their parents’ sins, but it is nevertheless their duty to ascertain wherein their parents violated the laws of th eir being; and wherein their parents’ habits were wrong, they should change their own course, and place themselves, by correct habits, in a better relation to health. The harmonious, healthy action of all the powers of body and mind results in happiness; t he more elevated and refined the powers, the purer and more unalloyed the happiness. An aimless life is a living death. The mind should dwell upon themes relating to our eternal interests. This will be conducive to health of body and mind. HL 30,31 Purpose ful Life You should also have an aim, a purpose, in life. Where there is no purpose, there is a disposition to indolence; but where there is a sufficiently important object in view, all the powers of the mind will come into spontaneous activit y. To make life a success the thoughts must be steadily fixed upon the object of life and not left to wander off and be occupied with unimportant things, or to be satisfied with idle musing, which is the fruit of shunning responsibility.
