This book contains 17 chapters providing details on decision tools that use linear programming to determine recommendations specific to a farmer's context intended to maximize profit from fertilizer use in sub-saharan Africa. Chapter 1 and 2 discusses the principles and approach, and spatial analysis of fertilizer use optimization, respectively. Chapter 3 covers integrated soil fertility management in sub-Saharan Africa. Further, Chapters 4 to 16 explore optimizing fertilizer use within an integrated soil fertility management framework in countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Finally, Chapter 17 describes the process of enabling fertilizer use optimization in sub-Saharan Africa.

Ausgehend von der Fragestellung, welchen Einfluss Moscheen, Kindertagesstätten und Schulen, aber auch die Peers, Medien und die Gesellschaft auf die religiöse Sozialisation von muslimischen Kindern haben, rückt Ayse Uygun-Altunbas erstmalig muslimische Familien ins Zentrum der Analyse und greift hierzu die Perspektive der Eltern auf. Die qualitative Analyse zeichnet eine differenzierte Typologie der religiös-muslimischen Erziehungsvorstellungen nach und präsentiert typspezifische Merkmale der Familienreligiosität, Vermittlungsformen der religiösen Erziehung sowie weitere sozialisationsrelevante Einflüsse.

This book includes the seven papers that contributed to the Special Issue of Mathematics entitled “Mathematical Methods in Applied Sciences”. Das Arbeitsförderungsrecht schreibt Verantwortung zu, doch die Akteure, die Mittel und die zugeschriebene Verantwortung in den USA und der BRD unterscheiden sich. Ausgehend von den Phänomenen Arbeitslosigkeit und Verantwortung wird das Arbeitsförderungsrecht der USA (West Virginia, Wisconsin, Kalifornien) und der BRD vergleichend untersucht. Der Verfasser unternimmt einen „phänomengeleiteten Sozialrechtsvergleich“: Neben einer ausführlichen Betrachtung der Arbeitslosigkeit und des Verantwortungsbegriffs finden die historischen Entwicklungsschritte des Arbeitsförderungsrechts in den Vergleichsländern, das Verfassungsrecht sowie das Arbeitsförderungsrecht (Arbeitslosenversicherung sowie Hilfe- und Förderprogramme) der USA, der in den Vergleich einbezogenen Bundesstaaten und der BRD Beachtung. Der Autor kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass die unterschiedliche Verantwortungszuschreibung im Arbeitsförderungsrecht der Länder in deren Verfassungsrecht grundgelegt ist. Zugleich identifiziert er trotz aller Unterschiede eine in den Vergleichsländern voranschreitende rechtliche Verknüpfung zwischen Leistungen des Arbeitsförderungsrechts und Anreizen zu „normaler“ Erwerbsarbeit (USA).

It explores the diverse phenomena which are challenging the international law of the sea today, using the unique perspective of a simultaneous analysis of the national, individual and common interests at stake. This perspective, which all the contributors bear in mind when treating their own topic, also constitutes a useful element in the effort to bring todays legal complexity and fragmentation to a homogenous vision of the sustainable use of the marine environment and of its resources, and also of the international and national response to maritime crimes. The volume analyzes the relevant legal frameworks and recent developments, focusing on the competing interests which have influenced State jurisdiction and other regulatory processes. An analysis of the competing interests and their developments allows us to identify actors and relevant legal and institutional contexts, retracing how and when these elements have changed over time.
