2008-2010 remote start from factor activation guide. tools needed :- small flat blade screw driver (watch repair/terminal screwdriver best). or larger bladed driver and paperclip/pin. 1amp 1k ohm resistor (if voltage to high needs to be around 3v). App car softwere. tape side cutters or lone nose pliers. key with remote start buttoins or membrane for original key to modify Procedure :- 1. open bonnet and find location of front battery terminals / fusebox (looking in engine bay left had side) 2. lift up on front battery terminals / fusebox mount to lift there is a tab on the left side of the box push away from the box on the tab and lift box up 3. underneath there will be several connectors, we are after tipm c2 this plug is the only blue one that is the furthers right in the bay. 4. pull down on the latch that holds the plug in latch will be at a 45 degree angle to the plug when fully released and should pull out. 5. once accessiable pull open the red tab on the side of the plug between the leaver this should be pressed and pulled up to release. 1 6. once red tab released pull up on the red plug innerds gently with you flatblade. once raised and not trying to go back in on you, you can then prise it out fully the release the pin locks. 2 7. find pin 10. then insert your pick or small screwdriver down onto the terminal tab and carefully remove the pin. to release the terminal you should pull the small tab inside the plug away from the pin and pull the corrisponding cable. cable should be the blue and perple wire. 3 8. relocate terminal to pin 14. make sure the cable has enough slack not to stress the termianl when fully inserted into the plug. the termial should go in with the tab facing the channle of the plug so to go in easy do not force as this can dammage the terminal. when fully seated it should lock into position when done correctly. 4 9. re assemble plug, put the red internal pin locker back in, it just pushes back in and make sure it is flush then the red tab on the side make sure that is then pushed shut. 10. attach plug back to the fuse box / battery terminal box and when attaching make sure there is a click when locking the leaver back in. this makes sure that the plug is full seated. close box as this area is now done with. 11. open up app car diag on follow procedure as set out. 12. go to programming tab when connected and open up the tipm Configurable Inputs. set Reconfig Input #2 (B14) to Not Present. 5 https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Remote-Start- LX-2008-2010-03-768x451.png 13. In the same page then go to Reconfig Input #4 (B10) and now set this to Hood Ajar – Analog https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Remote-Start- LX-2008-2010-01-768x451.png 14. once both parts done click next until it says compleate. 15. now go to the diagnostics tab. when there got to tipmcgw central gateway and open up. 6 then go to the live data tab and select the followowing analog hood ajar and analog hood ajar voltage =select them and click start this will show you live data. https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/hood_analog_data-768x451.png 16. at this point the hood should say open 0v/ switch closed if the hood is open and when shut around 3v and hood closed /switch open. if you are getting hood closed at 5v or hood adjar analog cuircit high then you need to put the 1a 1k ohm resister in place to step the voltage down correctly. the hood closed is the important part to making this work. 17. if voltage incorrect or now at circit high follow the next steps. if not skip to step 22 18. go back to the bonnet ond on the right had side when looking at it there should be the hood adjar switch. this is a plundger type switch. push both side of the tabs and lift up. in my case cable was tight but you are able to take it out fully and rest the bottom of the plug on the hole to keep it in place. 19. using a flat blade screw driver seperate the plunger part from the plug body there is 2 tabs either side that need to be released from the body then it pulls off exposing the terminals for the resistor. 20 insert resistor. with resister inserted make as snug as possiable and at this point you can butcher the original plunger and make it fit and hold in the original position or you can tape up the plug with eletrical tape and secure the plug base. if the plug base falls in the hole it will be hard to retrive after. 21. now go back to app car and look at the hood adjar status and voltage. if its reading around 3v and saying hood closed switch open the modification is now compleate if not go back and check connections. 7 22.After changing the parameters, you need to perform the WCM Reset (Reset WIN Configuration Routine). A PIN code will be needed. In app car now go to the diagnostigs tab again and wcm wireless contol, then routiones tab, then read pin and run. make a note of the 4 digit pin. https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country- Read_PIN_Code-768x472.png 23. then back in the same menu go to Reset WIN Configuration Routine. then run and wait for the sequence to compleate. this will apply all changes to the WCM/WIN Module. that we have made. 24. now its time to program a key with the remote start setup or if you got a new membrane for you key then this step is not needed. 25 now insert new key into the ignition and turn the key to the run position (position before tip start) evic should now show key not programed. 26. now back in app car with the same 4 digit pin as before go to diagnostics tab the wcm wireless control and find Program Ignition Keys or Key FOBs’ routine and run 8 https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country-key-fob- program-appcar-02-768x473.png 27. On the first step you will see the number of currently programmed keys. Usually can be a maximum of 8. clik next and follow instructions on screen. https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country-key-fob- program-appcar-03-768x451.png 28.In the second step, you have to enter the 4-digit PIN code. 9 https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country-key-fob- program-appcar-04-768x451.png 29. Then the ignition module will start the Key Fob programming procedure. It may take several seconds. https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country-key-fob- program-appcar-05-768x451.png 30. After a while you should see the programming result and the number of currently programmed key fobs – one more than before 10 https://appcar-diagfca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/chrysler-town-country-key-fob- program-appcar-06-768x451.png 31. now clear all dtc from moduals as you should have some from when we disconnected the plugs. now remove key lock door and doubble press remote start. car shoud lock again and start car. 32. great succsess !!!! NOTE do not put key in with door lock this will cause the car to think it is being stolen and shut down make sure you unlock doors with fob first then put key in ignition then to run position. NOTE when testing do not open doors while locked from inside as this will shut engine down and sound alarm. NOTE when testing found key would only remote start once per key cycle. if it works once then you stop and try again without putting the key in the igintion it did not work again for me but when started manually after worked fine. i suspect this is a saftey feature if someoen was trying to steal car. 11
