Promises to Israel NO WAY! 1. Moses said — Deuteronomy 18:15 "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him [JESUS] 2. The Apostles affirmed what Moses said — Acts 3:22 - 26 "Moses said, 'The Lord God shall raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; to him [JESUS] you shall give heed in everything He says to you.’” 3. Jesus said of Moses — John 5:46 - 47 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?“ [ The unavoidable logic; Because his writings and My words come from the same God. ] 4. The Lord God said — 'And it shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him . (Deu 18:19 Figuratively, Allegorically, Metaphorically, Symbolically, OR Literally Jesus Christ Moses “Listen to [Jesus]...” Deu 18:15 Take God’s words LITERALLY... ( or else ) ...are there not consequences? Deu 18:19 I Myself will require it of him . (Deu 18:19 From the ABOVE and the Chart BELOW, we learn that ... 1. Jesus affirmed the “writings” of Moses (#3) to be just as much the Word of God as were Jesus’ own words. 2. The fairness of God requires a Literal understanding of His “words” (#4), since disobedience has severe consequences In the “writings” of Moses (the words of God; see above) we read this, Genesis 17:7 - 8 "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant , to be God to you and to your descendants after yo u "And I will give to you and to your descendants after you...all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession ; and I will be their God." When the words above (Gen 17:7 - 8; & scores of other examples) are read literally, grammatically and contextually, the promises made to Abraham are clear. In view of the clarity and strength of promises like that above, for the Palestinian Eastern “Christian” church to reject God’s promises to Israel, they must... 1. ignore Jesus’ statement in John 5:47 that Moses’ “writings” are as much the Word of God as Jesus’ own “words” are; 2. reject the Literal understanding of God’s “words” — a Literal understanding required by God’s fairness in light of the severe consequences for misunderstanding or disobedience of Deut 18:19 (see John 12:48) “God’s words” have consequences ! 3. But because God’s literal promises are “inconvenient” to the Palestinian narrative about possession of the Land, the Literal understanding of the promise above (Gen 17:7 - 8), for example, must be exchanged for a non - literal understanding, proceeding as follows, 1. Adopt a preconceived notion of what you WANT the Bible to say, 2. If the Bible says something LITERALLY different from what you WANT, switch to another method of interpretation, i.e., allegory, metaphor, symbolism, mythological, even “correcting” an alleged “erroneous” Bible, etc. 3. You are now free to make the Bible say what you WANT it to say ; 4. That is what the Palestinian “eastern - liberation - theology” church has done, taking its cue from the age - old deception, “ Indeed, has God said? ” (Gen 3:1) 5. This Palestinian non - literal approach can be summed up in 7 Objections ; xxx xxx OBJECTIONS designed to Negate God’s Promises to Israel (a compilation and summation of Palestinian “Christian” sources) 1. The Old Testament (OT) has been superseded and rendered archaic by the New Testament (NT) 2. Much of the OT is mythical - history conveying only spiritual truths. 3. The Law of Moses was revoked by Christ and the Apostles. 4. After the Jews rejected Christ, any “supposed” OT promises to Israel were transferred to the Church. 5. The natural offspring of Abraham (Jews) disappeared over time as they blended into the Gentiles. 6. Zionism is an illegitimate and evil political movement because of the Objections above. 7.
