RGV Engineering Alumni Association Fall 2025 Scholarship Call Rio Grande Valley Engineering Alumni Association Fall 2025 Scholarship Call Thank you for your interest in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Engineering Alumni Association Scholarship. The Alumni association was founded in the Summer of 2023 with its mission to connect graduates from all engineering & computer science majors and give back to the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley College of Engineering & Computer Science (UTRGV CECS). As you look forward into the future and plan for graduation, we encourage you to join the alumni association and network with our growing membership across the country. 1. Eligibility Requirements Tier 1: Excellence Scholarship a. Enrollment: Full ‐ time enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in a UTRGV CECS program. b. Academic Performance: Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher. c. Coursework: Completed at least 30 credit hours of coursework at UTRGV CECS (9 credit hours for graduate students). d. Letters of Recommendation: Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty members within the UTRGV CECS. e. Community Involvement: Active participation in at least one UTRGV CECS extracurricular activity, club, or organization. Tier 2: Achievement Scholarship a. Enrollment: Full ‐ time enrollment as an undergraduate student in a UTRGV CECS program. b. Academic Performance: Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. c. Coursework: Completed at least 15 credit hours of UTRGV CECS coursework (6 credit hours for graduate students). d. Letter of Recommendation: Provide one (1) letter of recommendation from faculty members within the UTRGV CECS. e. Community Involvement: Active participation in at least one UTRGV CECS extracurricular activity, club, or organization. 2. Selection Process The scholarship committee will review applications and select recipients based on academic performance, community involvement with UTRGV CECS, and personal statement. Award At a minimum, the UTRGV CECS Alumni Scholarship Committee anticipates awarding the following: Excellence Scholarship (Tier 1): One (1) ‐ $2,000 Achievement Scholarship (Tier 2): One (1) ‐ $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded on Friday, November 21, 2025, at a special ceremony at the McAllen Convention Center. Recipients will be notified of selection/award by Friday, November 7, 2025, and must attend the award ceremony in ‐ person to be awarded the scholarship 5.
