My name is Alex Davisson, and I am a UX Designer and Developer. I have a love for people pleasing thanks to years in customer service, and a passion for design and software development as as result of my UX Certficate and BS in Computer Science. Projects Redesign Redesign Movie Night Redesign Platform: Android/iOS Timeline: Oct 2020-June 2021 Client: Kronos Inc. Role: Lead UX Designer An app I commonly used for many work functions, and some of you might be familiar with it, is called Kronos. Kronos had decent functionality, but as you can see, it isn’t very appealing. So, I figured I could take it upon myself to fix that. Because the current version clearly had none. If I wanted to redesign this app, I needed to first find it’s successfully style Art Direction Something I thought the app had going for it was it’s logo design. None User Research The layout was and uninspiring dull. It was that minimal effort was put into the design of the app. clear User Research Sure the app worked fine, if you could figure out how to navigate it. I compared it to other scheduling and work function type applications to see what and what worked didn’t User Research Users seemed to respond best to simple designs. Nothing overly , but still enough to know complicated clear what’s what. Layout Design Overall, I created a design that was guided by simplistic user intuition. It was important to me that the user felt like they were using something that was both and familiar friendly Layout Design Below are a few more sections of the app that I felt were positively improved in design, functionalty, and accesibility. See full working Prototype Spokane Laboratory Redesign Project Overview Platform: Web Browser Timeline: May 2021 - June 2021 Client: Spokane Laboratory Residency Role: UX Designer Research My team and I initially had a meeting with the client to determine their needs. Their website needed a lot of work, here are some of the more important things we took away from the meeting. Research Our client also gave us a few websites they wanted us to draw inspiration from. We conducted user testing on the client’s site and further investigated the other sites to see what they did right. Research We also conducted a S.W.O.T. Analysis of the site to determine what could be improved. Art Direction The next step was to form a better art direction that properly represented the client and their work. Content Management At the same time, we were sifting through the site to compile what content they had, and how it woud be best organized. Here is how we initially decided to layout the site.
