Data generated can help Chase make data - driven decisions on how popular particular services are and provide customers with excellent customer experience. Additionally, Chase can track specific demographics of the customers and based on that intr oduce targeted rewards offers to various customer segments. For the scope of our project the team came up with the following requirements for our database: ü Customer should be able to open account; ü Customer should be able to edit profile settings; ü Cust omer should be able to have card (credit & debit); ü Customer should be able to access all the transaction history; ü Customer should be able to connect external account; ü Customer should be able to transfer money via Zelle, wire and ACH; ü Customers should b e able to make a transaction: pay bills, transfer/request money; ü Customer should be able to request a statement. IS 6420 Group 7 Project - Chase 7 DATABASE REQUIREMENTS In order to meet all the set requirements, we were able to analyze how to organize these into a database and were able to narrow down these priorities into 15 tables: 1. Customer; 2. Transaction; 3. Wire; 4. Zelle; 5. Ach; 6. Card; 7. Debit_card; 8. Credit_card; 9. Account; 10. Savings_account; 11. Checking_account; 12. External_account; 13. S tatement; 14. Profile; 15. Ext_act; IS 6420 Group 7 Project - Chase 8 Conceptual Model Chase Conceptual Model As seen on the conceptual model above, 16 entities have been created, and the main three ones are Cust omer, Account and Transaction. Those three entities have the highest amount of relations with other entities and with each other. Ultimately, the banking business idea is built around a customer, who opens an account and makes transactions. Apart from tha t, 3 entities in the diagram are supertypes which have subtypes connected via overlap: Account: Customer can open either checking account or savings or both; Transaction: Customer can make a transaction via Zelle, wire transfer or ACH; Card: Customer ca n have Credit card, Debit card or both. IS 6420 Group 7 Project - Chase 9 Conceptual Model Chase Conceptual Model Continued Another component of this conceptual model are Branch and Employee entities. Via Chase Mobi le app customer can contact an employee who is assigned to a particular branch to ask for help or advice. However, for the Customer - Bank relation via application it is not essential. Therefore, Brach and Employee entities have been added additionally to th e ER model and will be omitted in logical as well as physical models. IS 6420 Group 7 Project - Chase 10 Logical Model Chase Logical Model The above diagram shows the logical model. It describes the st ructure of the data elements and relationship among them. It includes defining the attributes, primary keys, and cardinality. Account and Transaction have the highest relationships with the other entities. We have many - to - many relationships between account and external account, one to one relationship between account and profile and one to many relationships between customer to account. The table with the most attributes is the transaction table, in this table we keep track of every information of the trans action. IS 6420 Group 7 Project - Chase 11 Physical Model Chase Physical Model Physical model helps us to design the database based on the requirements in the logical model. In the above model we have de scribed the primary keys, foreign keys, and data types to the attributes. We have created a total of fifteen tables and the account table is the center of the database model. The primary key of the account table is account_id, which is being referred to as a foreign key in six tables.
