Team building is a great way to encourage workers to step away from their daily workload and engage in something different, leaving them feeling refreshed and re-energized. This is absolutely the key to employee retention and promoting positive mental health in the workplace. Many of the key principles of employee engagement are – trust, integrity, and communication – and are all benefits of team building events. It Builds Valuable Relationships When we spend approximately one third of our lives at work, it makes sense that valuable connections with our co-workers are a key part of a happy working life. Team building exercises work on nurturing and growing these relationships, helping to build trust and friendships with colleagues that they may not normally socialize with and they find common ground on which to build their working relationship, particularly for new starters. It Boosts Morale Team morale has a big effect on company culture and the engagement of your employees. To make sure morale remains high, we want to keep employees feeling appreciated and valued. In Summary Team building activities are both fun and educational and this new era has brought a plethora of exciting options to the table. As the Covid climate sees a different style and pace of working on the rise, more and more, the need for team building exercises are increasing and thanks to our leaders, Tony Joe and Michelle, the creation a portfolio of activities that appeals to all of our staff is the first step that we as a company are looking for new ways to promote a more positive and productive working environment. Please see below Calendar for 2022: Northeast Social Club Page. 04 2022 Team Building Activities The buddy Program is a new HR initiative that has been trialed in the Engineering Department. The Buddy Program pairs new employees for four weeks with an existing employee that has been with the company for longer than 12 months with these main goals in mind: ·First goal is to provide the new employee with a point of contact for all day to day queries -about facilities, procedures, where to get tooling etc. The second goal is to have their buddy assess their skills and abilities in the position that they have been appointed to. ·And lastly the third goal is to assist the new employee with fitting into the company by spending time with someone who is familiar with our culture, attitude and expectations. The benefits of this program is that new employees feel more welcome into their new company, can get answers to their questions quickly and reduce the uncertainty and confusion that all new employees face. Based on its early success and the support of our Senior Managers, Workshop Supervisors and Team Leaders, we are looking forward to rolling this program out to all workshops within the Northeast Auto Group.
